We were lucky to catch up with Christina Logan-Rowe recently and have shared our conversation below.
Christina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
I’m extremely happy as a business owner! Being able to do what I’m passionate about excites, motivates and accelerates me to do better, be better and elevates my baking skills in this overly saturated world of other wonderful bakers. My passion to create new temptations is unlimited; especially when I unintentionally dream about what to make next, new creations coming soon!
I don’t have to wonder what it would be like to have a regular job; I’m still currently working a FT job as a certified/registered pharmacy technician. 3/4/2022 makes 20 years and I love what I do. I work with a great pharmacist who understands what I’m passionate about and gives me the flexibility I need to do what I do best and that’s baking. I’m asked this question all the time… “how do you work a FT job and bake when you get off?” My response is GOD gives me the strength I need to do both.
Christina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello Lovelies! My name is Christina Logan-Rowe, I’m married and have 4 adult kids. I’m the proud and humbled owner/baker of Delectable Temptations. I started this business October 2012 after my business name was registered, I began to slowly step out of my shell and network with others to get my name out there. It wasn’t easy and most times I felt like giving up, I wasn’t working with much money at all and as the saying goes… you have to spend money to make money, that’s what I sacrificed and did. Once the networking started and people tasted my product, word got around fast. I talked to my family about getting a website, my daughter immediately built my website from the ground up in which I became an online bakery. I can truly say my family has been my biggest supporters; they motivate me, push me when I don’t push myself, give me encouraging words, pray for/over me and have been here for me throughout this whole process. I have clients who has prayed for me in person and over me as well because they saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself at the time, for that I’m truly grateful and blessed.
I started out making only scratch cakes and pies. My clients asked if I made cupcakes and at the time I wasn’t, until more clients requested the same thing. Words to live by.. don’t say what you won’t do, if GOD has a bigger plan in your life trust HIM and go with the process!
I started creating flavors that you don’t see in most bakeries, not knowing if my clients would love/hate my product. I had plenty of taste testers to critique and be blatantly honest with me when it comes to the temptations I create, that’s the feedback I wanted from them. I was overwhelmed with new creations and experimenting in the kitchen was/is exhilarating for me.
My specialty cake/cupcake flavors that I provide to name a few are:
Down South Peach Cobbler, Caramel Apple Pie, Pineapple Paradise, Vanilla ice cream, Pumpkin spice latte, Sweet potato pecan, Key lime pie, Lemon Addiction, Strawberry Cheesecake, Banana pudding, Tres Leche (made DT style), White chocolate cookies and cream, Ultimate Red Velvet, 7-up pound, Snickers, chocolate desire, the list goes on.
Specialty pies: Holy Matrimony (beautiful creation of 2 pies becoming ONE), Pecan, Ultimate chocolate, lemon chess, buttermilk chess, chocolate chess, lemon addiction, the list goes on.
Specialty cheesecakes: Trinity Cheesecake (3 temptations joined together, pecan, sweet potato and cheesecake with a bourbon pecan glaze on top) pecan pie, cherry pie cobbler, Down south peach cobbler, Boston cream pie, Banana pudding and cheesecake brownies.
When my clients request something custom that’s not on my website, I listen/hear them and create the art they desire and make sure the taste exceeds what they expect on their special day/event. I work with my clients and find out what vision they may have for birthdays, anniversaries, bachelorette/bachelor, weddings, etc. I’m here to provide the services they need to make their day special without breaking their bank, making sure they stay within budget, and not rob myself in the process of my time and ingredients used. I love pleasing my clients and very humble when I get feedback on how I made their event special. Repeat clientele is a wonderful thing and it’s a blessing to see them come back for more temptations.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been through word of mouth, all platforms of social media and my website. Word of mouth is a powerful thing; it can make or break you. Without my clientele, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I treat all my clients with the utmost respect, show empathy and compassion, listen to what they desire and put it into action. The presentation of my art is one thing, but I also make sure the taste of my product is top notch as well, that’s what keeps repeat customers coming back. I absolutely LOVE my clients!! All platforms of social media are linked to my website. When a temptation catches your attention, you can click the picture and it takes you straight to the website which I believe is convenient. I also receive DM’s as well which I respond to in a timely manner. I strive to keep my clients satisfied.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I keep in touch with my clients through text, emails, calls, social media and my website. I strive for consistency when it comes to fostering brand loyalty. When a new/repeat client taste my temptations and they return again, it’s because of the consistency that I provide. When they receive that from the product they taste, no words need to be said. I’m so humble/grateful for all of my repeat/loyal clients. I strive for the best and I let my temptations speak for itself. I’ve been told that I have blessed hands, I agree they truly are blessed with God’s touch. Delectable Temptations speaks for itself, it’s delectable and most definitely and indulging temptation to experience. New creations coming soon!
Happy Sweets, my lovelies!

I have known Christina for a little over 20 years. She has a beautiful soul and is a beautiful young lady. She has always been passionate about her cooking. Shoot her entire family. Her husband makes the best Chicken and Dumplings (he used to make it for me all the time. 😂 ) her mom makes the best beans and meat together. Let me tell you all this lady right here can throw down on all food. Not just her specialty in baking.
Speaking of I need to order from her now. I am extremely happy for you and I love and miss you.
