We were lucky to catch up with Christina Haisfield recently and have shared our conversation below.
Christina, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I majored in Journalism and have always loved travel, writing, and photography. I was the girl who brought a digital camera everywhere and documented everything. Before studying abroad, the first “big” thing I bought with my own money was a real camera.
I started my very first blog during Semester at Sea as a way to keep friends and family updated (this was before Instagram made that easy!) It was just a fun creative outlet, but it unexpectedly started gaining a following. Other students would tell me their parents, siblings, etc were reading my blog, which made me realize people I’ve never met actually cared about the stories I was sharing.
After graduating, I went to work at Google. It was an amazing opportunity, but I quickly realized I missed being creative. I was BORED! So I started my travel blog Jetset Christina on the side as a passion project. Over time, my audience grew, and hotels and tourism boards began reaching out to work with me. That hobby slowly turned into a business.
At the time, I couldn’t have imagined a career like this even existed. For me, it was about combining what I loved with the skills I had and just starting before I felt ready. It was also about having fun, and designing a life I loved to live every day. It still is!!!!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m the founder of Jetset Christina, a luxury travel and lifestyle media channel focused on high-end travel that feels accessible, inspiring, and, now that I have a family of 4, family-friendly. I started the brand over a decade ago as a creative outlet while working full-time in the corporate world, and it slowly evolved into a business that now spans digital media, travel advising, partnerships with luxury hotels and tourism boards, and content creation for global brands.
At its core, I help people plan extraordinary travels, and help them to feel confident traveling the world. Through my blog, social platforms, and travel agency services, I provide curated hotel recommendations, detailed destination guides, and insider strategies for traveling beautifully, whether that’s a honeymoon in Italy, a multi-generational trip, or flying across the world with toddlers.
What sets me apart is that I sit at the intersection of creator and business owner. I have a background in journalism and corporate brand marketing, so everything I do blends storytelling with strategy. I understand how to build brands because I’ve worked inside one, and I understand how to connect with audiences because I’ve grown one organically from scratch.
Over the years, my content has evolved alongside my life. What began as 20-something adventures has grown into family travel, entrepreneurship, and building multiple businesses alongside my husband, including our resort wear brand, Kenny Flowers. I’m proud of that evolution. I think it shows that you can grow, pivot, and still stay authentic to your voice and what makes you YOU.
The biggest thing I want potential clients and followers to know is that my brand is built on real experience. I personally visit and vet the hotels I recommend. I negotiate partnerships directly. I obsess over the details. And I genuinely care about helping people create memories that feel meaningful.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Friends telling friends!!! Past clients referring other couples or families, and readers of my blog recommending me within their own circles has been the most powerful driver of growth, consistently.
Because I work in luxury travel and highly personalized itinerary planning, trust is everything. When someone has a great experience and shares that with their network, it carries far more weight than any ad ever could.
I think that organic growth is a reflection of the relationships I build. My business has grown largely through community and reputation, which I’m incredibly proud of.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of my biggest pivots was deciding to become a travel advisor in addition to running my travel blog. I decided last fall that I was beginning to feel a bit uninspired by my day-to-day, and I wanted to shake things up a bit.
For years, I have been inspiring people through content, sharing hotel recommendations, destination guides, and itineraries. I realized that readers weren’t just looking for inspiration, they were asking me to plan their trips. They already trusted my taste and wanted help executing the details.
Instead of continuing to send people links and general advice, I decided to formalize that part of my business. Becoming a travel advisor allowed me to serve my audience in a deeper, more tangible way. It closed the loop!!! I could now secure VIP perks for them, build on personal relationships with hotels I have around the world, and personally curate experiences rather than just recommend them.
It was a pivot from purely media and content into service and operations, and a lot of customer service!!!! It required learning a whole new industry, building supplier relationships, and structuring a business model that supported both my creativity and client service.
That shift has been incredibly rewarding!! I am inspired every day by this new side of my business, and I’m LOVING it. I’m not just showing beautiful destinations anymore, I’m helping families and couples experience them firsthand. It’s a dream!
