Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Catherine Auman, LMFT. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Catherine, thanks for joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I was in a bookstore in Venice Beach, California when I looked down at a table and saw a book that said “sex is spiritual.” It was one of those
moments when everything changes. Since that awakening, I’ve been following any lead I can find to discover more about sacred sexuality. I read books, sought out teachers who knew more than me, and lived in a tantra ashram in India for a year. It’s been a wonderful ride.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a licensed therapist with advanced training in both traditional and spiritual psychology with over thirty years of successful professional experience helping thousands of clients. What sets me apart from most therapists is that while I have extensive experience in traditional therapy and mental health, I have a great depth of understanding in all matters spiritual, so can help people on their spiritual path as well. I’m the author of 12 multiple award-winning, bestselling books on the subjects of tantra, relationships, and spirituality. I’ve headed nationally-based psychiatric programs as well as worked through alternative methodologies based on ancient traditions and wisdom teachings.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I constantly put out content to educate, entertain, and enlighten. I believe that if you focus on giving, you will be noticed and appreciated by the right people. None of us is everyone’s cup of tea, but it you keep putting it out there, you will build a solid reputation of someone with something of value to offer and not someone just trying to draw attention to themselves.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think what makes a person successful in their field besides their training and knowledge is their work on themself to become a better person. If you are always looking at yourself for how you could improve and then working hard at those improvements, you will be successful at life, not just in business.
