Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to C4 Thec4band. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, C4 thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
The Kindest thing anyone has ever done for me is to listen to my music and give it accompaniment.
The first person I remember fondly was my first guitar player, Guitar Dave Watkins, Who, when all others laughed at me and said I was ridiculous to start a career as an all original artist without learning covers first, simply said that even though my music had irregularities in them, they were formed and predictable and thus playable. And that is just what he did.
He sat with me and we learned how to play together.
Although I was taking lessons at a music store to learn different techniques like scales and modes,
I had not put a solo in my song yet and it was Dave who showed where his parts would go and how to play those out so he could “add instrumentation” as he said.
Guitar Dave was from England and had a degree in Jazz Composition and had studied with and played with many, many artists like Annie Lennox, INXS, EURYTHMICS, Killing Joke, Buddy Holly’s niece and nephew, among MANY other artists.
He worked with me from the kindness of his heart and for that I am truly, truly Grateful.
I will always remember the kindness and patience he showed me in the beginning.
He was also very experienced in stage presence, touring, Mic technique and just the “art of performance and being a rockstar” and I learned sooo much from him my first 4 years as an artist.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

C4, is an artist and musician with a diverse and compelling background.
Raised on a horse farm in Maryland, she spent the first part of her childhood in Iran. Being a child of a multicultural family, she has a rich cultural heritage and a deep connection and appreciation for all people and also to her family’s roots, both on the farm and in her middle eastern descent.
Her family life was marked by travel and exposure to various cultures around the world, which influenced her artistic expression.
In her youth, she struggled with addiction, starting substance use at a very young age. This led to a tumultuous period in her life, including multiple rehab stints and very deep, personal losses.
Despite these challenges, C4 found solace and purpose in music and recovery, channeling her experiences into her art and society.
Her journey through addiction and recovery has not only shaped her music but also her outlook on life, as she continues to be an active participant in the recovery community, as she has been now for over 2 decades, using her story and her music to inspire others
Her bohemian upbringing also significantly influenced her artistic style and her music cannot be confined to a single genre, often described as “entrancing folk” to some, Country to others, and Americana or Christian or “coffee house” music to still others.
She not only has traveled the world but she has also traveled the United States and has spent decades immersing herself into the Americana lifestyle. From not only the farm life in Maryland but also in her years living in and frequenting Topeka Kansas, Colorado, Chicago, Houston, Florida, Texas, Arkansas, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Sante Fe, Southern California, Lake Charles, Charlotte NC, Virginia, Kentucky, Maine & West Virginia, just to name a few.
She is also known for her involvement in the Washington D.C. & Houston, Texas hardcore and punk scenes during the late 1980s and early 90’s.

And if you got this far reading…. my gift to the world? Well….. Sing songs I write in front of people is my gift from God. That’s what I do. And I get paid for that often.
The gift I am able to bring to others through that? Well……. that gift is to be an inspiration to others.
To help others find their path, awaken the creator inside of themselves, further their business & dream building acumen by helping each person find their strengths and weaknesses and figuring out a plan to build a life that makes sense to them. Somehow, I’m good at that. A wonderful byproduct of being a rockstar with a heart. Thank you God.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Being an artist is a calling. There is no way around that.
There are many ways to help artists focus on creating the art that is inside them and being led to share with the world.
One thing is buy their art. Buy the merch, the CD, Put money on their venmo, tip jar, etc.
Promote the art. Share it, create places for artists to gather. Mix genres of art. Painters need exhibits, exhibits need live music, food needs to be made, decor needs to added, Costumes can be worn. A poet needs to say something. Bring the community together and allow the flow of creation to grow.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building social media for me has been intentionally organic and I really like that.
I’ve been playing the long game. Maybe not the popular opinion but I feel that building strong relationships with people and coming to the table with attitude from the heart, asking myself what can I bring to the table, not just what can I get, is the way to go.
I ask myself and the people around me this question…..
“How can I be of service today”?
“How can I be of service to you”?
“What can I do to help you”?
Responding t0 my friends, fans and followers on Socials is key for me to keep in touch with my people and to build a solid foundation of friends, fans and followers.
Be organic.
Be kind.
Be helpful.
Be real.
Talk to them on their posts.
Like them.
Wish them Happy Birthday and celebrate the wins with them and be supportive in the losses.
These are just how I try to live my life every day and I just move my ideals to my social life and social media.
Build relationships, and the presence will come and will be meaningful and strong and authentic.
