We were lucky to catch up with Brittney Coke recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brittney, appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I don’t regret when I started my creative career—I truly believe I began at the exact right time for me. Classify Beauty originally started as a personal blog in 2017, created by me (@iambrittneycc), during a season when I was balancing career growth, personal development, and discovering how I wanted to show up creatively. Fashion, beauty, and style had always been my passion, but at that point in my life, content creation was an outlet—an artistic way for me to express myself while navigating adulthood and professional responsibilities.
Starting when I did allowed me to grow organically. I wasn’t rushing the process or chasing trends; instead, I was building confidence, refining my voice, and learning who I was both creatively and personally. Had I started sooner, I don’t think I would have had the clarity, discipline, or self-assurance needed to truly turn Classify Beauty into a brand. Starting later may have delayed opportunities that ultimately helped shape my journey and expand my platform.
Over time, Classify Beauty has experienced tremendous growth and evolved far beyond a blog. It is now a multifaceted brand that includes Classify Beauty Lab (hairstyling, makeup application, and fashion styling services), Classify Beauty Crown (custom wig units), Classify Beauty Closet (shoes and clothing), Classify Beauty Claws (press-on nails), Classify Beauty Cosmetics (a makeup line), and Classify Beauty Merch. This evolution feels well overdue—in the best way—as I continue to share my talents, passion, and insight with the world.
The Classify Beauty Blog remains the heart of the brand, dedicated to bringing beauty directly to women everywhere—highlighting fashion, hair, and makeup trends alongside my personal style. It’s designed to empower women of diversity who are classy, confident, and comfortable in their own skin—women who inspire others and embody beauty from the inside out.
Since starting my journey, I’ve found a deep sense of fulfillment. Along the way, I was selected as an official delegate for the 2019 Miss Florida USA pageant, earned the title of Ms. Treasure Coast, competed in the Ms. Florida pageant, and most recently was selected to compete in the Ms. World Pageant as Ms. Petite Florida. I’ve also had the opportunity to collaborate with a host of brands, further solidifying my place in the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle space.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change the timing at all. Starting when I did allowed me to build something authentic, sustainable, and aligned with who I am—and who I continue to become.

Brittney, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Brittney Coke—a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content creator, entrepreneur, and the founder of Classify Beauty. At its core, Classify Beauty is a one-stop style destination for women who want to look good, feel confident, and move through life with intention and ease. My mission has always been to simplify beauty and fashion while celebrating individuality, confidence, and self-expression.
My journey into the beauty industry started early. While still in high school, I began working as a freelance hairstylist, which gave me firsthand experience in helping women feel confident through their appearance. That early exposure sparked a deeper passion for beauty as both an art form and a tool for empowerment. Over time, that passion evolved into content creation and entrepreneurship, allowing me to combine creativity, business, and storytelling in a way that felt authentic to who I am.
In 2017, I officially launched Classify Beauty as a personal blog—a space to share fashion inspiration, beauty tips, and my evolving personal style. What began as a creative outlet has since grown into a full-fledged lifestyle brand offering a range of products and services designed for the modern woman.
Today, Classify Beauty includes Classify Beauty Lab (hairstyling, makeup application, and fashion styling services), Classify Beauty Crown (custom wig units), Classify Beauty Closet (shoes and clothing collections), Classify Beauty Claws (press-on nails), Classify Beauty Cosmetics (a makeup line), and Classify Beauty Merch. Each extension of the brand is intentionally created to make beauty feel approachable, elevated, and wearable for everyday life.
What sets Classify Beauty apart is that it meets women where they are. I create for women who want effortless glam—whether they’re heading to brunch, vacation, a business meeting, or simply running errands and still want to feel put together. Through my products, services, and content, I solve a common problem many women face: feeling like beauty and style require too much time, money, or a full glam team. My goal is to show women that confidence can be curated at home, on their own terms, without sacrificing quality or style.
Beyond the brand itself, my personal platform focuses on teaching women how to achieve full glam looks at home—without needing a wardrobe stylist, hair stylist, makeup artist, or nail tech. I blend my creative expertise with a strong professional background, allowing me to approach content creation strategically, intentionally, and with longevity in mind. I’m not just selling beauty—I’m building confidence, self-belief, and community.
I’m most proud of how Classify Beauty has grown organically into a brand that represents empowerment, consistency, and evolution.
From being selected as an official delegate for the 2019 Miss Florida USA pageant, to holding the Ms. Treasure Coast title, competing in the Ms. Florida pageant, and most recently being selected as Ms. Petite Florida to compete in the Ms. World Pageant, my journey reflects the power of believing in yourself and showing up fully.
The main thing I want people to know about me and my brand is that everything I create is rooted in purpose. Classify Beauty is more than fashion and beauty—it’s about helping women feel seen, confident, and capable. I want my clients, followers, and partners to know that when they engage with my work, they’re engaging with a brand that values authenticity, growth, and the beauty of becoming your best self—inside and out.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media was a gradual, intentional process—not something that happened overnight. I started by showing up consistently and sharing what I genuinely loved: fashion, beauty, and style. In the beginning, I wasn’t focused on numbers or virality; I was focused on documenting my journey, sharing real-life looks, and creating content that felt relatable and inspiring. As my confidence grew, so did my clarity around my brand voice and the type of woman I wanted to speak to.
One of the biggest factors in growing my audience was authenticity. I didn’t try to fit into a box or follow every trend—I focused on creating content that reflected my lifestyle and personal aesthetic. Whether it was sharing full glam looks, everyday outfits, behind-the-scenes moments, or beauty tips women could actually use at home, I made sure my content solved a problem or sparked inspiration. Over time, people began to trust my perspective and see my platform as a resource, not just a highlight reel.
Consistency also played a major role. I treated content creation like a commitment, even when engagement was low. Posting regularly, engaging with my community, responding to comments and messages, and genuinely supporting other creators helped build real relationships—not just followers. I also leaned into storytelling, allowing my audience to grow with me as Classify Beauty evolved from a blog into a full lifestyle brand.
For anyone just starting out, my biggest advice is to start before you feel ready. Don’t wait for the perfect aesthetic, camera, or strategy. Be clear about what you want to be known for, show up consistently, and stay true to your voice. Focus on serving your audience instead of chasing numbers—growth comes when people feel seen and supported. Most importantly, give yourself time. Building a meaningful social media presence is a marathon, not a sprint, and the most impactful brands are built through patience, purpose, and persistence.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
To truly support artists and creatives, society has to start valuing creativity as real work—not just passion or a hobby. Creative labor fuels culture, storytelling, innovation, and even commerce, yet too often it’s expected to be accessible for free or without fair compensation. Respecting creatives means paying them fairly, crediting their work properly, and recognizing the time, skill, and strategy that go into what they create.
Access and opportunity are also critical. A thriving creative ecosystem depends on resources being available early and often—whether that’s funding, mentorship, education, or platforms that amplify underrepresented voices. When creatives have access to tools, training, and supportive communities, they’re able to focus on honing their craft instead of just surviving. This is especially important for women and creatives of color, whose contributions are often overlooked or undervalued.
Brands, institutions, and media also play a major role. When collaborations are approached as true partnerships rather than transactional exchanges, creatives are empowered to produce meaningful, high-quality work. Long-term relationships, creative freedom, and transparency allow artists to grow sustainably instead of constantly chasing the next opportunity.
Finally, society can support creatives simply by showing up—engaging with their work, sharing it, investing in it, and encouraging originality instead of comparison. When we celebrate creativity as essential to everyday life and not just entertainment, we create space for artists and creators to thrive, innovate, and build legacies that impact generations.
