We were lucky to catch up with Brette Davis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brette, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
One of the core values of our company is Giving Back. Growing up, I witnessed my mom and dad go above and beyond to help others in our community. I knew I wanted to find a career one day where I could emulate that and leave a positive impact in other people’s lives. Getting into the real estate industry in an area where I didn’t know very many people was a challenge, but I knew there was a huge need for service, so we got to work! It was not easy, and we have overcome a lot of obstacles and challenges along the way, but that is what made us even better. We make it a personal mission to work harder for our clients than anyone we know, and go above an beyond to make sure they have a great experience while purchasing their largest investment. We do this by committing to excellence in the small details, like being one step ahead in the process for our clients to anticipate what is coming next, having a full list of vetted professionals to recommend for every service they could ever need, and over communicating so they are in the loop the whole time and can make very educated decisions. At the end of the day, we couldn’t do anything we do without our loving and loyal clients, and this is what makes our careers so fulfilling! We understand that we come across people from all walks of life, and we want to help them find a house they can come home to from ANYWHERE that makes them feel safe, loved, and welcome! As my career has evolved, I have developed a passion for helping people build wealth through real estate. After buying our home in 2017, my husband & I understood the substantial impact the home values in the Triangle have had on our lives, and we quickly learned that we wanted to help others change their financial futures as well. As a result, we have pursued many avenues of financial education advancement so that we can be an awesome resource for advice to anyone looking to plan their financial futures! We are extremely passionate about helping others, and have aligned with other professionals with the same passion!

Brette, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Coming from a small farm town in Minnesota, I quickly learned the value of great customer service and hard work. After working in corporate America and then at a small law firm in Durham for a couple of years, I decided I would like to pursue a career in real estate. I saw the opportunity to make a huge impact on the community by helping them responsibly purchase a home and invest. We work specifically with first time home buyers, buyers and sellers looking to upsize or downsize, buyers and sellers looking to relocate across cities & states, and now have a specialization in luxury. We offer a Concierge program that puts all the heavy lifting on us, so that our clients can focus on their careers, family, & everything that comes next in their journey. Davis & Main Concierge is a full-service real estate experience that connects consumers with some of the best real estate agents in the industry to buy or sell their home, while educating our clients and matching them with superior, hand-selected vendors to handle all of their needs throughout the process. The best part about it is that we handle all the front-end coordination for them so they don’t have to lift a finger. Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I think it’s safe to say that at times, anything that can go wrong, WILL go wrong! In 2019, I was juggling a full-time career in real estate doing about 36 transactions at the time, and my mom was also dying of cancer. From my mother’s death in 2019 until 2021, as you all know we were faced with an extremely challenging time during Covid. Most business owner’s were at risk of losing everything because of the state of the market & all of the unknowns that came with it. It was a very challenging period of time in both my personal life and public/career. Through my mother’s passing, I think is where I found the strength to be resilient against anything thrown at me. She was the strongest person I knew, and she was also my biggest cheerleader. Losing her has been the toughest thing I have ever been through, but I know the whole time she was cheering me on from above! She is now my driving force, as I know that if she were still here, she would be encouraging me to push through, turn my eyes & prayers to God, and that I could do anything I set my mind to. Even though the last few years have not been easy, I have been able to accomplish things I could only dream of! I have many designations & certifications, I am licensed in both North Carolina & my home state of Minnesota, and we are working on accomplishing many of our personal finance goals! I am so thankful for the hard times because they have made me so much stronger & wiser, and there are BIG things to come!!!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing clientele is doing the absolute BEST job with the current clients you are working with & being available before, during and long after the sale. We work so hard for our clients, and it’s not just about business for us. It’s about creating a world where people can have trust and faith that a job will be done well, and with high levels of integrity. As a result, we still maintain incredible relationships with our clients because we genuinely enjoy working with them! After the sale, they still may need recommendations, references, or assistance, so we make it a point to stay in touch with them to help however we can! And in return, they are our biggest fans as well and send their friends and family back to us to ensure they have a positive experience as well! Staying in contact with your clients requires a plan though! Make it a point to build this strategy & execute to the best of your ability — it’s very important to have a plan!
