We were lucky to catch up with Bao Su recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Bao thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t change when I started Body Bling Jewelry—I would only trust the vision sooner.
Body Bling was born during a season where I was balancing motherhood, responsibility, and a demanding career. This wasn’t a hobby or a trend I jumped into—it came from seeing a gap in the bodybuilding space and knowing, deep down, that athletes deserved jewelry that matched the level of precision, sacrifice, and excellence they bring to the stage.
I believe deeply in divine timing. Had I started sooner, I might have moved faster—but I wouldn’t have had the discernment I have now. I hadn’t yet developed the eye for detail, the understanding of stage presence, or the emotional resilience required to build a brand rooted in trust and consistency. Body Bling isn’t just jewelry—it’s confidence, timing, and intention, and that kind of brand can’t be rushed.
Starting later may have felt safer, but it would’ve cost me valuable years of learning the industry from the inside—understanding athletes, suits, lighting, judges’ expectations, and the unspoken details that separate “pretty” from stage-perfect. Those early lessons shaped everything Body Bling stands for today.
Looking back, I started exactly when I was meant to. I grew alongside the brand. My taste matured, my standards sharpened, and my purpose became clearer. Body Bling evolved because I evolved.
Divine timing doesn’t mean waiting until everything is perfect—it means starting when the calling is clear and committing fully to the process. And when Body Bling began, I was ready to honor the craft, the athletes, and the vision—whether I knew it yet or not.

Bao, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m the founder and creative force behind Body Bling Jewelry, a brand born at the intersection of precision, performance, and confidence. My journey into this industry didn’t begin as a business plan—it began as an observation. I saw elite athletes dedicating years of discipline, sacrifice, and artistry to their physiques, yet their stage jewelry often felt like an afterthought. I knew there was space for something better—something intentional.
Body Bling was created to serve competitors who understand that presentation matters just as much as preparation. In bodybuilding, figure, bikini, wellness, and physique, details aren’t optional—they’re decisive. Jewelry isn’t just an accessory; it’s part of the full visual package. My role is to ensure athletes walk on stage feeling complete, confident, and aligned with their suit, physique, and division.
We specialize in curated stage jewelry—custom rhinestone sets, earrings, connectors, and accessories designed specifically for competition lighting, movement, and symmetry. Every piece is selected or created with purpose: how it reflects under stage lights, how it frames the athlete’s face, how it complements suit color and cut, and how it enhances—not distracts from—the physique. I solve the problem of uncertainty for athletes by being a trusted eye. They don’t have to guess. They don’t have to overthink. They can trust the process.
What sets Body Bling apart is experience and intention. I’ve spent years immersed in the competition world—working alongside athletes, coaches, and suit designers—learning the unspoken rules of the stage. I don’t follow trends blindly; I understand standards. I know when to elevate and when to keep it clean. I know that confidence comes from knowing every detail is handled.
What I’m most proud of is the trust this brand has earned. Athletes come back season after season because they feel seen, supported, and understood. Body Bling isn’t mass-produced or rushed—it’s curated with care. I believe in divine timing, and this brand grew the same way athletes do: through patience, refinement, and consistency.
What I want potential clients and followers to know is this: Body Bling is more than jewelry. It’s peace of mind on show day. It’s alignment. It’s knowing that when you step on stage, nothing is left to chance. My brand exists to honor the work athletes put in long before the lights ever turn on.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been exceptional customer service, paired with consistency and results. Customer service is, without question, the number one clientele builder—people may forget what you sold them, but they will always remember how you made them feel.
In the bodybuilding world, trust is everything. Show day is high-pressure, emotional, and deeply personal. I’ve built Body Bling by being present, responsive, and invested in my clients’ success—not just delivering jewelry, but delivering peace of mind. When an athlete feels supported, guided, and confident, that experience stays with them long after the stage lights turn off.
Another key factor has been education and guidance. Many athletes don’t realize how impactful jewelry is until it’s done right. By serving as a trusted eye—understanding divisions, suit design, lighting, and stage standards—I remove uncertainty. Clients don’t come to me to guess; they come to me to feel assured.
Growth has also come from long-term relationships, not one-time transactions. I work with athletes across seasons and stages of their careers, which creates loyalty and organic referrals. I believe in divine timing—serving the right clients at the right moment, and growing intentionally rather than quickly.
At the end of the day, Body Bling grew because people felt taken care of. When you lead with integrity, precision, and genuine care, your clients become your biggest advocates—and that’s the most powerful growth strategy there is.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience, for me, has looked less like one dramatic moment and more like showing up—consistently—when walking away would’ve been easier.
I built Body Bling as a single mother, during a season where stability mattered just as much as vision. I was balancing full-time work, motherhood, and late nights fulfilling orders—often from my kitchen table—while quietly building a brand that required precision, trust, and consistency. There were moments when the effort felt invisible and the growth felt slow, but quitting was never an option because failure wasn’t something I could afford—not just for myself, but for my children.
One defining moment came early on when a last-minute issue threatened an athlete’s show day. I could have said no. I could have set a boundary and walked away. Instead, I did whatever it took to make sure she stepped on stage feeling confident and complete. That moment reinforced something I still lead with today: resilience isn’t just enduring hardship—it’s choosing excellence and responsibility even when no one is watching.
As a single mom, I had to build carefully and intentionally. I couldn’t rush, gamble, or compromise my standards. I believed in divine timing—trusting that if I stayed consistent, disciplined, and aligned, the brand would grow when it was meant to.
Looking back, Body Bling wasn’t built overnight. It was built in between school drop-offs, late nights, and quiet sacrifices. The resilience it took to build this brand mirrors the resilience I carry as a mother—and that’s the foundation everything else stands on.
