We recently connected with Anthony Fondale and have shared our conversation below.

Anthony, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

The most meaningful project to me that Recess has done is “Petals”, “Petals” is our most recent single we wrote about losing a family member of mine that strongly influenced me throughout my life to a battle he had with his mental health. It’s the rawest song I think we’ve ever put out. He would be super happy to know it was written for him.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I started playing and performing at the age of twelve with my brother Vincent when he was eight and our guitar player Alex when he was ten. When I turned fourteen, my obsession with production began. I started interning at a studio along with constantly researching on my own and learned a ton. I had the privilege of going to school for production and, during my last semester of college, our band Recess started to click. Now, we just got off American Idol, released a song that’s doing super well, and are about to begin our tour for 2026. Our biggest leap we’re about to take is a dive into our band’s lore. We pride ourselves on our music being an escape from reality; something you can really lose yourself in. We dug into that and created an entire story / series throughout our releases and artworks we can’t wait to present to everyone that really displays it in a very cool way.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is seeing the worlds and songs you create come to life together.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Community, interaction, consistency, adaptation, willingness to learn, and humility are all huge when it comes to building a social media presence. Reference material is also a must during the creation process.
