We recently connected with Angel Hidvegi and have shared our conversation below.
Angel , appreciate you joining us today. Is there a lesson you learned in school that’s stuck with you and has meaningfully impacted your journey?
The most important lesson I learned in school didn’t come from a lecture, it came from the moments when I felt completely on my own.
As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, college was never just about classes. It was about figuring out everything by myself. I didn’t have a guide for how college worked or what came after. My mom has always been loving and supportive, but as a single mother of seven, she had already given everything she could just to get us where we were. I knew I had to take it from there.
I remember one night during my time at Cleveland State, sitting in my room after a long day of classes and work. I was exhausted, staring at my laptop with tabs open for apartments, job applications, and assignments. I was trying to balance being a full-time student while working just to afford life, all while preparing for graduation. It felt overwhelming, like I was expected to have everything figured out when I was still learning how the world worked.
In that moment, I realized something that changed me: no one was going to figure it out for me.
At first, that felt heavy. But then it became empowering.
I started asking questions, even when I felt unsure. I pushed myself to learn things no one had taught me how to apply for apartments, how to communicate professionally, how to advocate for myself. And at the same time, through studying communications, I began to grow creatively and find my voice in ways I never had before.
The biggest lesson I learned is this: you don’t need perfect circumstances to succeed, you just need the strength to keep going and figure it out along the way.
Now, when I look back, I don’t just see struggle, I see resilience. I see someone who didn’t have a roadmap but kept moving forward anyway. And that’s something that continues to shape who I am and who I’m becoming.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a first-generation college graduate from Cleveland State University, where I studied communications with a focus on journalism and public relations. Growing up in a low-income household with a single mother raising seven kids, I learned early on how to work hard, be resilient, and figure things out on my own. Those experiences shaped not only my work ethic but also my passion for creativity and storytelling.
I’ve always been drawn to creative expression, which is why I love content creation. I specialize in photography, videography, editing, and building engaging social media content. I also run a travel YouTube channel where I document my adventures and share unique experiences with my audience. Beyond digital media, I enjoy painting and doing acrylic nails, blending artistry with entrepreneurship in everything I do.
My goal is to help clients and followers tell their stories in ways that are authentic and visually captivating. What sets me apart is my perspective: I know what it’s like to build something from scratch, and I bring resilience, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset to every project.
I’m most proud of the work I create that connects with people and inspires them whether it’s through a video, a photo, or a creative project. Ultimately, I want people to know that I’m driven by passion, creativity, and the desire to break cycles, create generational wealth, and explore the world while helping others share their own stories.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, my creative career is driven by a mission to build a life of freedom, creativity, and impact, not just for myself, but for my family and future generations. Growing up in a low-income household with a single mother of seven, I learned early on the value of resilience and self-reliance. That experience motivates me to break cycles, create generational wealth, and show that it’s possible to dream bigger than your circumstances.
Creatively, my goal is to tell authentic stories that inspire, connect, and empower others whether through photography, videography, content creation, or my travel YouTube channel. I want my work to reflect not only my passions but also a mindset of possibility: that with dedication, creativity, and persistence, you can turn your ideas into something meaningful.
Ultimately, I hope my career allows me to explore the world, document unique experiences, and share those stories with a wide audience, all while inspiring others to pursue their passions and take control of their own journeys.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One moment that really taught me resilience happened with my travel YouTube channel. I started it because I love to explore the world and share those experiences creatively through videography, photography, and storytelling. But the truth is, my channel hasn’t exploded in views or followers. Some days it feels like I’m putting in all this work and no one is noticing.
Even so, I’ve learned to keep going. I remind myself that these videos aren’t just for an audience they’re for me. They capture memories, moments, and experiences I want to look back on, and that alone makes them worth it. At the same time, I have faith that other people will eventually connect with what I’m sharing, that someone out there will see a video and feel inspired, curious, or entertained.
This experience has taught me that resilience isn’t just about achieving immediate success it’s about continuing to create, even when the reward isn’t instant. It’s about believing in the value of your work, your story, and your vision, and trusting that persistence pays off in ways you might not even see yet. Every video I make, every edit I perfect, is a step toward building the future I want full of creativity, exploration, and connection.
