We recently connected with Amy Kramer and have shared our conversation below.
Amy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
One of the most important pieces of advice I’ve ever given a client is this: your health cannot be solved with a one-size-fits-all or DIY approach—it has to be personalized.
I had a client who came to me after trying everything on their own—elimination diets, popular supplement stacks, online protocols. They were doing what most people do: piecing together advice from the internet and social media. They were trying to “fix” their symptoms. On paper, it looked like they were doing everything right, but in reality, they were getting worse—more fatigued, more inflamed, no weight change, and increasingly frustrated.
When they finally came to see me it in their first session, that it was clear very quickly their body wasn’t responding to generic solutions because their root issues were unique. They had a combination of nervous system dysregulation, underlying digestive imbalance, and nutrient depletion that no standard protocol could fully address. They weren’t using the right solutions to the problem as a result. This is the case for many people, and we then get frustrated, give up and say nothing works.
The biggest shift for this specific client happened when I asked them to stop trying to self-manage through DIY approaches and instead follow a fully personalized plan we built together. We simplified everything, removed what wasn’t working for their body, and focused on targeted support—specific nutrients, gentle detoxification, and nervous system regulation tailored to their needs. You know your body better than anyone else and that knowledge is essential to having a well formed plan that will work for your unique body’s needs.
Within a few weeks, their energy started to return. Within a few months, their symptoms had significantly reduced. But more importantly, they felt confident in their body again—they weren’t guessing anymore. Progress started to be realized and continued long term. That’s what we all want in our health and yet so many of us struggle getting going and staying motivated due to lack of the right things in place that make results possible.
The real result wasn’t just symptom relief—it was clarity and sustainability. They learned that health isn’t about doing more; it’s about doing what’s right for you.
That experience reinforced what I tell every client no matter the problem: you can’t outsource your health to trends or generic advice. Personalization isn’t a luxury—it’s the foundation of actually getting better and realizing results on your health goals.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m the founder of Dragonspit Apothecary, an in-person and online holistic health practice and apothecary focused on helping people restore their health naturally by addressing the root cause—not just managing symptoms.
I got into this work through a deep frustration with how modern health care approaches our health. I saw how many people were stuck in cycles of symptom management—being told their labs were “normal” while they still felt exhausted, inflamed, anxious, or unwell. There is a gap between what people experience in their health journey and the support that is often available. My aim is to help return the accountability and empowerment back to the individual for what their health journey should look like and helping them have the right natural solutions to help.
That led me to study and integrate multiple modalities—herbal medicine, homeopathy, nervous system regulation, and natural holistic health approaches—so I could help people understand what their body is actually asking for, rather than silencing it.
Through Dragonspit Apothecary, I provide personalized health consultations, targeted supplement and herbal protocols, and curated bundles designed to support things like metabolism, hormone balance, gut health, stress, and detoxification. Everything I offer is built around the idea that no two people should be following the exact same plan.
The main problem I solve is helping people who feel stuck and are those who have tried everything and still don’t feel like themselves. My role is to connect the dots, simplify the process, and create a clear, personalized path forward.
What really sets my work apart is that I don’t believe in overloading people with protocols or keeping them dependent on products long-term. My goal is to help clients understand their body, support it in a targeted way, and ultimately become more self-sufficient in their health.
What I’m most proud of is the transformation in how my clients feel—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. When someone goes from feeling confused and overwhelmed to clear, energized, and back in control of their health, that’s everything. Real change can occur then.
The main thing I want people to know about my work is this: your body is not broken. It’s communicating. When you learn how to listen and respond correctly—with the right support—real healing becomes possible.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Other than training and knowledge, the most important skill in my field is the ability to truly listen.
So many people come into my practice having never felt heard or being made to feel like it was all in their head what they were experiencing. They’ve had limited time with providers, been reduced to symptoms on a chart, matched symptoms to prescriptions and were told everything looks “fine” on lab reports. It’s not in your head, you do know what is occurring in your body and that matters.
I do things differently. I make sure my clients have the space and time to actually talk—because they often already have insight into what’s going on in their body. My role is to listen closely, connect the dots, and translate that into a clear, personalized plan.
That level of attention is what creates real breakthroughs. When people feel heard, the process becomes more accurate, more effective, and ultimately more empowering.
It’s a very different experience for most people—and it’s often the missing piece in why they haven’t been able to get better before.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Yes—absolutely. And if anything, I would have stepped into this work much sooner.
The impact I’m able to have on people’s lives—helping them finally understand their body, feel better, and regain control of their health—is incredibly meaningful. It’s reinforced for me over and over that this is exactly the work I’m meant to be doing.
If I could change anything, it would simply be starting earlier so I could have helped more people sooner.
