We were lucky to catch up with Alejandry Rohena Benítez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Alejandry, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failing, loyalty, and persistence.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello,
My name is Alejandry Rohena, owner of Alejandry Detailing Solutions, created in 2019 from Luquillo, Puerto Rico.
We offer detailing services, ceramic coating, upholstery and help other companies to sell and buy aircraft for the entire state of Florida and Puerto Rico, without limiting ourselves to traveling to other states, we have had the opportunity to offer our services in Texas and Mexico.
Alejandry Rohena previously worked in the Department of Health in the Department of Epidemiology as Data Entry. In 2018 I made the decision to move to Chicago where I got a job at a private detailing company for private jets, where my interest in airplanes began to open up. In 2019, I returned to Puerto Rico and began to offer detailed services in my house for cars and boats. In that same year I was able to open my own Car Wash workshop in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Once I made the decision to offer my services at airports and private aviation companies, that’s where my biggest test really began. Many times they closed the doors, many times they told me NO. Even so, I kept knocking on new doors, and that’s where a person gave me my first chance, thanks to Captain Carlos Benitez I was able to perform the first service on a Cessna 172, Also to Jorge Ramos who gave me the first opportunity in Florida to work in a Westwind. From that moment on, new customers, new referrals and, above all, new opportunities began to arrive.
In these 4 years, Alejandry Detailing Solutions has become a very solid company in Puerto Rico and now in Florida. Where she has made contacts in Texas, Mexico, Spain, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile.
Alejandry Rohena despite having passed many negative comments, hearing that they do not want to give him the opportunity for sexist comments, among other things, he never gave up and always knew how to maintain his composure and resolve with customers. Thanks to that, he had many interviews such as in Telemundo Orlando/Puerto Rico, Día a Día, Central Florida Business Aviation Association, among other interviews.
Courage is a must, there will be a lot naysayers!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Building my reputation has come down to being present digitally as well as physically (in-person). Considering we are a new firm it was important that we get our name out to the industry. Initially it began with the digital presence, Building the website along with the various social media handles.
Beginning to post regularly on the platforms to document the process. Then as you begin to interact with more individuals in person and they connect with you digitally it builds on the ecosystem that creates your reputation.
The key element that really helped build my reputation was being the same person online as I am in person. This shows that you are genuine and a person living a normal life just like everyone else. At the end of the day people want to connect and relate to one another. Finding that common ground is incredibly important when building a reputation in any industry.

Any advice for managing a team?
The best advise that I can provide for building a community that works together towards the same goal starts with the vision. Everyone has their reasons for joining an organization. It’s the leader’s job to learn that reason. It can be to pay for bills, it can be to learn a new skill, it can be to help pay for family medical bills.
Whatever the person’s motivations are for joining the team it’s vital to learn that. Recognizing the person’s motivations, it key to figuring out what motives they have for showing up to work.
Having a clear understanding of expectations and ambitions is the start. Then you can work towards fostering a space that allows for those with the ambitions to exceed the norm to do so, while also ensuring that those who want to abide to the norm are not punished for meeting the expectations.
Morale is maintained when you focused on the person as an individual with feelings and not just a progress metric to be measured at the end of the quarter.
