Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? So, we asked some very sharp folks to tell us the stories of how they came up with the names of their brands.

It’s interesting. A while back, I became really fascinated and drawn to the word “joy” in scripture. I remember, towards the end of 2018, preaching this sermon, “Count it All Joy.” The sermon was born out of my curiosity about what it means to count something as joy, as mentioned in James 1:2-4. I find the most life in Scripture when I don’t stop at a surface-level head knowledge. Head knowledge doesn’t transform us, and it surely doesn’t motivate us as effectively as curiosity, awe, and wonder. Read more>>

The name of my brand is so special to me. Once I got serious about my life my main focus and goal became all about leaving behind a foundation for my children. Having my oldest child was the beginning of why my life begin to change. When so named her I gave her my middle name as her middle name, which is Nicole. When I begin to conjure up a name I took her first initial which is J and combined it with our middle name. Read more>>

Naming a photography company is hard, especially in today’s day and age because there are just SO many popping up. I wanted to go with something (like most) that are generic, but my name itself isn’t particularly easy to spell, nor is it short. So then I considered something catchy that also describes what I do (photograph extreme sports, off-road vehicles, etc), and came up with “Full send Photography” rolls off the tongue well right? I knew the concept, the products and the mission of my brand but coming up with a name was the toughest part. I wanted something with a deep meaning, not only to me but to every single person, no matter what their goals looked like. I didn’t want it to be something weird you had to “figure out” or some name with an intimidating hardcore sound like so many other brands in the health industry. Read more>>

ParHopper’s name is actually a pretty simple, but fun story! We were downtown Denver back in 2020 hopping around to different bars. Me (Jay), my now business partner (Max) and my dad (Tommy) had been brainstorming names all day. We were having a hard time landing on a name that we really thought fit what we were going for or would stand out. Read more>>

Crestview Studios has a compelling origin story! What began as a small, home-based Hip Hop dance class in 2021 soon grew into something much larger. The name “Crestview” was inspired by the street where Kaylee and Josh lived, and it also symbolizes the idea of reaching the pinnacle of one’s potential—seeing life from the highest vantage point, or the “crest.” This deeper significance aligns beautifully with the mission of Crestview Studios, inspiring dancers and individuals to strive toward their best selves. The name Audacity Presents is founded upon Philippians 1:21, where the Apostle Paul stated, “To live is Christ, to die is gain.” This is an audacious statement coming from a man who was presently sitting in a Roman jail. To the Apostle Paul, both options were a win/win for him. What if we viewed life in this same manner? The only way to do that is by being audacious and having the audacity to view the cup as half full and half empty. Read more>>

The name of my clothing brand is Over Thinkers Club, and it’s actually quite funny how it came about. I had just finished a photoshoot with my longtime friend and amazing photographer Chris Chen, and after the shoot we went to grab a bite to eat. Mind you this was back in 2016/2017, and we always have had deep conversations, him and I. Well while we were grabbing. our food, we start venting about life, and how complex it is for us all as a whole. Read more>>
