The Chiropractic profession is incredible as it helps people differently! We have had the honor of witnessing many health issues overcome within our practice. One of these is a 12 year old child who came in with such severe torticollis, where her neck muscles were so tight that her head would rotate without her control to the left side. She had to constantly be wearing a head brace to keep her looking forward. Read more>>

A child named Greg came into my office in a constant state of mistrust in his current surroundings, including his family. Greg was socially isolating himself and withdrawing from his parents at home. Additional concerns were his traumatic background including physical and verbal abuse, his traumatic abuse difficulty with his biological mother, and complications with social isolation at times in many facets of life. For example, Greg had close friends at school, but would become anxious and worried when physical altercations occurred. Read more>>

I work with people suffering from all sorts of ailments; some have been struggling with debilitating conditions for more years than they can remember. I will never forget a text message I received on Christmas morning. This client had been battling debilitating gut issues for years. She was wasting away, unable to eat and assimilate nutrients. About 5 years ago, a mom brought her daughter in a wheelchair to the office. They had seen 36 medical doctors in the hope to find answers for her. She was losing the use of her legs and the condition was progressing rather fast. None of those doctors could find what was wrong with her. They spent thousands of dollars on medical bills, travel all over the country to see the best doctors, but nothing. When they came to my practice, the parents were almost hopeless for their daughter. I love when we are able to help a young warrior! They often share with us a dream or a way that we can create “the most best day” for them. An example is a warrior knowing they only have a couple of weeks left to live and they just wanted to feel sand under their feet with their family. We had the honor of creating that forever memory for their entire family but making it a reality. It is truly the smallest acts of kindness that guide our families during the hardest journey of their life. Helping our families with the here and now everyday challenges is the reason I do what I do”. – Lorraine Tallman, CEO and Founder of Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels Read more>>

STRENGTH Nearly every childhood photo of me depicts a display of a combination of mosquito bites and scabs; a product of being an adventure-seeking child of the Midwest. As an accident-prone child, I would oftentimes fall, bleeding from a gravel-indented lesion and get little sympathy from my mother. While my friends could count on empathetic mothers to provide a “kiss for the boo-boo” and a fresh Band-Aid, my mom would shout “tell the ground you are sorry!”, force me to get up, brush it off and move on. I always say to my students during my teacher training program that “teaching is healing”. I found yoga in my life 21 years ago. I was dealing with depression and anxiety. I was very disconnected of my body and mind. When I had my first episode of panic attack, everything has changed for me. I must say I was never the same. I become better. Because of my anxiety, I started to take yoga classes. Something has awaken inside of me. I become more in tune with my emotions and starting treating my body as a temple. Read more>>

What’s so rewarding about helping people in their health and fitness journeys are hearing the stories of lives changing for the better. When they realize and are able to perform physical tasks that they wouldn’t even consider attempting previously to starting an exercise program. Seeing not only physical changes but how their lives can improve on a larger scale. Relieving pain issues that may have impacted their lives for years, limiting the things they were able to enjoy in their daily lives simply because they couldn’t. Read more>>

One of my favorite things about Operation Bliss is how so many people want to help provide memorable experiences for our families. I’ve watched hotel staff members line the street to welcome an arriving guest with claps and cheers. I’ve had a hotel concierge ask to purchase additional gifts out of her own pocket for the child staying at the hotel because she felt so touched by the patient’s story. I’ve seen a hotel chef go out of his way to customize a special dessert before the child departed the hotel because the child’s strength and grit drew the chef to tears. These are strangers extending love to strangers and it is so uplifting to witness. Read more>>

Recently I have been shifting the focus of my work to be more intensive, holistic healing therapy experiences. I have been a little nervous and hesitant to make this change, as it is very different than what we think of as the “typical therapy model”. I did a trial run of an intensive session (6 hours) with one client who had experienced a horrible, unthinkable trauma that was paralyzing their life. The client later gave me feedback that “what we worked through has made a complete difference in my life…I can experience [life]…not just as a traumatized person. Read more>>

In the field of sexology, there are so many intimate moments that I have been able to share with my clients in respect to their relationships, their growth and their individuality. I have so many heartwarming stories of those ah-ha moments where things just clicked, where people would be in session and cry because they had a special experience that they couldn’t have before and were able to develop a connection. I recently had a tired mom of of multiple boys come in for chronic upper back pain and headaches— we also found out that her blood pressure was trending high, her hormones were not in sync and her digestive system was not functioning the way it used to. We determined that not only was her spinal structure contributing to these symptoms, but her nervous system was in full blown survival mode. Anyone with young kiddos knows all of the stress that comes along with caring for them on top of caring for ourselves, and that stress was overwhelming her system and sending it into chronic fight or flight and leaving little room for rest, digest and repair. After going over all the results of her exam, we agreed on a plan of action and got to work! Read more>>

I absolutely do! I will never forget the first day that I met one of our residents, Tonia. I had heard about her – which usually doesn’t mean good news at Dallas 24 Hour Club – but in her case, it was! Her friend, Susan, introduced me to Tonia and there was an instant connection between us. She got in the habit of dropping by my office often and we started building a great relationship. When Tillman House, our Phase III sober living apartment complex, was getting ready to open last February our staff unanimously agreed that she would be the perfect Female Resident Staff Liaison – and she WAS! I was so proud of her and excited to see her excel in this new leadership role. Read more>>
