Almost every business owner, artist, maker, and creative we know has had to deal with countless unexpected problems that arise in the journey and so we asked some brilliant folks from the community to share their stories of the unexpected problems they’ve faced along the way.

I moved to Atlanta, GA in 2019 with hopes of being signed to an Agency. After countless Auditions, Submissions, Classes etc. I still have been unsuccessful in getting signed. I viewed this as an issue/obstacle in my Acting career for so long because I felt like it prevented me from getting next level roles on Network television. I haven’t been able to tap into the Co-Star, Guest Star world and it made me feel like I wasn’t good enough. I felt this way for 7 years. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2025, a few weeks ago, where I got the Revelation that although my career has not taken me down that path yet, it doesn’t discount the road that God has taken me down thus far. Construction began in September of 2021 and was supposed to take 4 months to completion.
There were so many challenges along the way as a direct result of the Covid pandemic. There was a labor shortage and it was very difficult to find laborers. We went through many sub-contractors whose pricing was either way out of budget, would not show up or did half the job and then did not show back up. Read more>>

The most unexpected problem I’ve faced on my voice actor journey happened right after I booked my first audiobook. I found out that I had to have a thyroidectomy to remove a mass that was growing in my thyroid. Of course, come of the potential complications could be that my voice and vocal quality could be impacted. Besides being scared, I felt so incredibly disheartened in that moment because I had just decided to make the leap from nursing to voice acting.
