Today we’d like to introduce you to Stiz Santosa
Hi Stiz, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Stiz Santosa and if I didn’t change my ways, I knew I’d either go to jail or end up dying instead of being the personal trainer and business woman I am today.
I had a baby sitter who was cheating on her husband and would take me to go visit her boyfriend. I was left alone in a bedroom with his little brother. I was made to lie to her husband about where we’ve been and they would yell at each other in front of me. All in all, I shouldn’t have been put in these situations when my mom entrusted her to care for me.
I never knew how to vocalize all these things that happened but my body was screaming out for help.
I’d act with rage, fight everyone and everything. I got older and got addicted to alcohol and drugs. I got arrested a couple of times. I even went to NA.
My parents had no idea why I was acting out and neither did I to be honest. Until I told my mom what happened to me when I was a child. And it felt like a huge weight got off my shoulders. I didn’t want to play victim anymore, I didn’t want to play the blame game. I just wanted to be better.
So I started to surround myself with like-minded individuals and left those that kept me stuck in the past in the dust.
I began working out and paying attention to what I ate. I went to school for personal training and received my certification and now I help so many people online and in person.
I learned that leaving that you need to take a good look at yourself and ask yourself how did you get there.
You NEED to leave that victim mentality and the what ifs and I can’ts. It’s not serving you anymore.
Exercise and good health MAKES you feel better in your mind, body, and spirit.
You deserve a better life. Just know everyday is a learning process and I understand. But you just need to take that leap.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I dated guys at the time that crushed my self confidence by cheating on me, talking to other women, or gaslighting me. They made me act out in ways that I knew wasn’t myself.
I became angry and revengeful. The first time I got introduced to drugs was when my ex dated a girl who did them yet he never cut ties off with her when we were together. He even went over her apartment while we were dating. So in my low self confidence era, I stupidly started to do drugs so I could show that I was like her, if not better.
I knew I was worth more than the guys I chose. But you know what they say: you date people who are equal to your self worth.
But deep down I knew I was a good person, I just didn’t have the right person to show it to. So it was definitely time to change my look on my self worth and to change my ways.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a personal trainer. What sets me apart from others is that I’m real. I don’t sugar coat my past. People need that when you’re their personal trainer. When people see a personal trainer that does no wrong, they don’t see that their results are attainable. They need someone who has hit rock bottom and turned their life around.
How do you think about happiness?
Doing what I said I was going to do makes me happy. Because I set out a goal for myself, and I accomplished it. I can’t let myself down. My childhood needed someone like me to look up to.
