Today we’d like to introduce you to Shiquasha
Hi Shiquasha , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well, I grew up in a house full of art, fashion, music and entertainment lovers. So, it all became a big interest to me to study and pursue.
Also, my deceased father was into freestyling, singing and writing. So, it basically passed on to me and my older siblings. I’m told, he was a real good freestyler that won all his battles.
After, I started going to the recording studio, buying beats, and releasing music. I had an opportunity to do my first EP project titled “ Times Exhaling,”produced by an LA producer, OsymBeats. I also posted videos of my freestyles, that got me attention in the music industry as well. Then, I officially released my first EP, and my first music video “ Game Over.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t a smooth road. Because, in the middle of me working on my projects & EP. Trauma interfered and health is more important. Therefore, I had to fall back to recover. Which, delayed my EP, etc a lot. Also, everybody don’t want to see an other win or do well. So, you have to be cautious who you keep in your circle and surround yourself with genuine-positive ppl that are not envious. It could be the ones you least expect. Which led to me creating my record “ Sometimes “ a Tupac duet on my first EP. Which, led to attracting attention & support of some of Tupac affiliates, as well.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What sets me apart as an Artist, Writer, Entertainer, Fashionista, Influencer… Is designing my own merch and I don’t settle for anything that’s offered to me in this industry. I’m most proud of inspiring others and knowing that my music has a good impact on others. Especially, when recieving direct messages from supporters letting me know that their a fan.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that…development is everything and it’s best to book 2 different ppl for photos and videography.
