We recently connected with LaShaunte Wade and have shared our conversation below.
LaShaunte , appreciate you joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I took a risk starting my film production company and creating content how I wanted to. We are slowly getting work out, but I’d rather have quality over quantity. All the money put into this business is for a long term success.
LaShaunte , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been in the entertainment industry since I was 18 doing various things. I use to model, I was a celebrity fashion photographer for a few years and I’ve been a judge at a few popular horror film festivals.
I’ve worked behind the scenes on set doing whatever I needed to help out when I was younger and now I’m doing producer work and directing.
I started Dark Creeds Productions and we specialize In sci-fi, horror and suspense thrillers, but we also do commercials and other genre narratives. We offer conceptualization services and we also offer services to help you find a crew for your projects if needed.
We also will be having gear to be rented out as well as props and wardrobe. We are also planning to build a special fx area in our building once we are set and use that as a base ground for our designs conceptualization for creatures, etc.
I am also working on having a student program for film students to work on our sets and gain experience before graduating with a possibility to hire them as a Dark Creeds employee.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Networking with people from other sets and going to expos and film festivals and screenings and premiers.
Any advice for managing a team?
Treat them right and look out for them and they will do the same for you!
