We were lucky to catch up with Bravo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Bravo, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The project that got me noticed was YRR (Yxung Reckless & Restless). Coming from Greenwich, Connecticut with a street background was controversial enough to bring attention to my sound. At the same time I was actually in the streets so it helped with that word-of-mouth aspect when it came to spreading awareness.
I would go to parties and hear our songs being played even around town driving by. I’ve made a name already from doing shows, following opportunities, and just dropping but this was a clear sign that something had changed.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I’ve always been attracted to the creative space — it’s just in you or it’s not I think. Coming from a background like mine being a Connecticut underdog who fought through life’s struggle’s, it wasn’t hard for me to find motivation to give and go. Seeing the other side of living being born in Greenwich so close, but so far away it’s almost teasing you. It’s right there. Being treated different in a community I was from, and learning from the outside world what life was really like while I visited family or close friends, that’s what put fire in me. I realized then I wanted to tell my story.
Years later after gaining recognition I lost my best friend Laze and that changed the way I work and lived forever. 2018 Family Firm was established and it helped create a focal point on our vision and add structure to our madness.
We’ve built a formidable alliance with a neighboring brand, Family Ties, in order to build a bridge between venturing artists in Connecticut. We specialize in artist development, and have available resources in house for our artists and the ones we work with.
Furthermore, Firm has also built another brand in representation of turning Connecticut’s pain into triumph through mic performances, fashion, hood vlogs, and community interaction. ScabLife is anticipated to be the next true voice of Connecticut. For all future information you can follow our page @scabbabies on Instagram.
If I was to applaud any of my accomplishments it would be pushing past the barrier of “Can I do this?”.
It’s no longer a question for me, I know I can — and by chance I can’t, I’ll learn it then do it. Kidding me.
What I would want the readers to take from this is that there’s more out there than you can perceive. It may take a hint of crazy and ignorance to get there, but what’s reward without risk? And anyone who has it can’t tell you exactly how because it’s not easily understood. Stay different.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Just be consistent. Some people have a cult base, some audience need daily attention and lose it quick. It’s really how you govern your brand. Luckily me and my team have created enough of a name for ourself that post come with anticipation and that’s really the beauty of it. Little moments of freedom.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Finishing a project as a whole is probably the best feeling. Once it’s released it’s out there and you kind of let go of what that was holding you for the moment. Firm is in the process of finishing a few albums right now for the summer actually — Shout Wickd, Koto, Laff & Purp. We gotta couple albums we dropping this summer.
