We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christopher Harvey. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christopher below.
Christopher, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I first realized I wanted to pursue music professionally when I picked up the saxophone at 14 years old. Growing up in the Pleasant Hill community of Macon, Georgia, music quickly became more than a hobby, it became a passion. Just two days after receiving my first saxophone, I had the opportunity to play in church, and seeing how music could impact people emotionally and spiritually sparked something in me.
Through years of performing in school bands, church, and community events, that passion only grew stronger. By 2009, I decided to pursue music professionally, and I’ve been blessed to use my gift ever since to inspire, uplift, and connect with others through mus

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Dr. Christopher D. Harvey, a professional saxophonist, entrepreneur, and self-proclaimed “SAX-tavist”, a saxophonist who uses music to inspire, uplift, and connect with others.
I grew up in the Pleasant Hill community of Macon, Georgia, and began playing saxophone at age 14. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion, and by 2009 I began performing professionally. Today, I provide live saxophone entertainment for weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, worship services, sporting events, and community gatherings.
What sets me apart is my focus on creating experiences, not just performances. Whether I’m playing jazz, R&B, gospel, or contemporary music, my goal is to help create meaningful moments that people remember long after the event ends. I strive to bring professionalism, versatility, and authenticity to every stage.
Beyond music, I serve as a Section Chief at Robins Air Force Base and recently earned a Doctor of Science in Information Technology (DScIT). While my careers in technology and music are different, both are rooted in discipline, creativity, and service.
What I’m most proud of is the impact my music has on people. My brand is built on faith, excellence, and connection. I want clients and audiences to know that every performance is more than entertainment, it’s an opportunity to inspire, encourage, and bring people together through the power of music.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I believe society can best support artists by valuing the arts as an essential part of our communities rather than a luxury. Supporting local events, investing in arts education, fairly compensating creatives, and sharing their work all help create opportunities for artists to thrive.
As a musician, I’ve seen how music brings people together and creates lasting memories. A strong creative ecosystem exists when communities actively invest in and support the artists who help shape their culture.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to use music to inspire, uplift, and bring people together. Every time I perform, I want people to feel something, whether it’s joy, hope, nostalgia, peace, or encouragement. As a saxophonist and SAX-tavist, I view music as more than entertainment; it’s a way to connect with people and make a positive impact. If my music can brighten someone’s day, strengthen a community, or create a lasting memory, then I’ve accomplished my goal.
