Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Charvass Taylor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Charvass , appreciate you joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
There were a series of events that changed the trajectory of my career. However, the most significant events happened at the end of 2023. October 2023, I was rushed to the emergency room with severe back pain. The very next day I had to undergo emergency surgery to remove 26 fibroids. A month later my stepfather died in the same hospital. Those two events really shifted my perspective on life.
She Rises Wellness was birthed the following year. I wanted a more holistic approach to fitness. One that will guide clients to realistic goals and making sure they take care of themselves mentally and emotionally during the process.

Charvass , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello Everyone. My name is Charvass but everyone calls me Vassie. I am the owner of She Rises Wellness where I help women rise through fitness, nutrition, and self care. I’m an IFBB Bikini Pro Bodybuilder, Personal Trainer and Wellness Curator. In addition to my business, I work full time for the Washington Commanders in their Business Operations department.
I got into working out in my late 20s because I was having issues with my blood pressure. During a routine doctor’s appointment, my doctor wouldn’t let me leave the office because she was scared I would have a stroke by the time I got to my car. Needless to say, I had to some serious changes.
In 2013, I became a certified personal trainer and in 2019 I started competing as a bodybuilder. I earned my pro card in 2020. Competing as a bodybuilder taught me the importance of prioritizing your mental wellbeing. This is what caused me to add a more wellness approach to coaching because I believe you cannot be physically fit without being emotionally stable and mentally sound. One cannot coexist without the other.
Fitness requires more than just a workout routine and a meal plan. It requires more intentionally effort from both trainer and client. My goal is to educate the client to understand how the basics such as getting proper sleep is just as important as hitting the gym. People don’t need an elaborate workout plan, they just need to tighten up their discipline in certain areas.
My brand is about sustainability and accountability. My job as a Coach is to guide you through your journey and to give you the tools to sustain your success. However, I have to hold you accountable for your actions during the journey as well. My services includes creating meal plans, developing exercise programs, and establishing sleep rituals. The goal is to give women sustainable tools to improve their lifestyles.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The one thing I had to unlearn was stretching myself thin. I learned this was a trauma response from my childhood. I would go above and beyond for friends, family, and colleagues to the point I wasn’t noticing the warning signs from my body.
That’s the reality for a lot of women. They give so much to their careers, family, etc that they have nothing left for themselves. So, they miss the signs when their health is in danger. The hospital stay shifted how I wanted to conducted my business.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
My ability to listen. Not just to respond but listen to understand and comprehend what my clients are trying to convey. Whether they are communicating through words, body language or silence. My ability to sense when a client isn’t 100% and needs extra guidance has been a major factor in my success.
