We recently connected with Ann Marie O’Rourke and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ann Marie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
My parents were intelligent, hardworking, and quietly humble. They saved diligently, acted with integrity, and were kind when no one was watching. They supported our ambitions but made one thing clear: being a good soul comes first. Their example was simple and lasting—work hard, stay humble, and keep your sense of humor.
These values certainly translated into my work. Try your best. When you err, own up to it. Make it right. Be yourself. Don’t focus on the competition. Don’t focus on the naysayers or the noise. None of it matters just focus on being the best you can be and build authentically.
My work is such an integral part of my life and I realize my four daughters are watching what I do and how I do it. It’s my hope my daughters will be able to carry the goodness in those right things forward into their own lives whatever direction life may lead them. Intergenerational wisdom and discernment is such a powerful thing.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
It’s not about having the most clients, it is about having the right clients. Our clients are both our homeowners and guests. I’ve built my business around people first. Our brand is about being local, being custom and being authentic. Our clients are truly at the heart of what we do. Not a week goes by not even the busiest weeks where I don’t think about what a critical role our clients play in our success.
At the core of everything we do are relationships—grounded in trust, transparency, and authenticity. These aren’t things you can replicate with technology or artificial intelligence. They’re earned over time and rooted in integrity. They are built on listening to the client and really hearing what they say, showing them they matter, and being consistent.
From leaving owners and guests notes before they arrive at the property (and happy anniversary message or happy graduation cards), from touching base with them each month on changes in the Rental market and changes in their needs. to consistently sharing exciting updates about our business on social media, all of this matters. Our clients are part of our community and many have become friends, and we are all evolving together. Even brief phone calls with a client to catch up can have a lasting impact.
Another important part of building brand loyalty has been in building our work teams thoughtfully. We have an extremely strong team (from contractors to cleaners to inspectors ) who understand and reflect the values of our company in their work. To make this work, we need everybody on our team on board with our mission and level of service.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Two things mattered most: doing things consistently and doing things differently with our own unique fingerprint on the work. People know we are the local company. We are the custom, not one size fits all company.
Good business practices are generally not a sprint, but a marathon. There has to be consistency in the long game and people recognize and value consistency.
As far as doing things differently, we were able to identify a hole in our market. We fused together what was needed and missing in our rental management market and in cleanings with what practices were done right by others and created a custom formula for success.
It is also important to note: when you like what you do and when you care about what you do, that authenticity shows. Your clients know you care and caring about the details of the work makes all the difference.
