We’ve been blown away by the examples of generosity and kindness that are at the heart of so many brands in the community. We asked some of the most giving entrepreneurs and leaders we know to tell us about how they think about the practice of donating a percentage of sales.

“Blessed to be a blessing,” runs through my mind when an opportunity arises for me to give. Lately, I have had the opportunity to give money AND time to a sweet mama and her little guy who got themselves tangled up in a pretty serious domestic abuse situation. Read more>>

For years, we were a 1% for the Planet Partner and still align with their objective to gain traction and drive donations to nonprofits with an environmental focus. A couple of years ago, we moved away from 1% in order to gain a bit more control over the organizations to which we donate regularly. We still support environmental causes and have been supporting a variety of organizations who do great work in the environmental space since our inception. We are currently supporting the work of the Nederland Area Trails Organization and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado by serving on NATO’s Board, providing pro-bono support for their marketing, and volunteering on trail projects for both organizations. We proudly donate a percentage of our sales to Nashville-based animal charities and shelters. As someone with a background in pre-veterinary animal science, animals have always held a special place in my heart. Supporting local organizations that care for animals is one way we give back to the community and help make a difference for the animals that need it most. Read more>>

Back in 2019, when our company was about 12 years old, I thought it was about time to step up our commitment to our community, and find a better way to give back in an ongoing way. I was familiar with a lot of big brands, Toms and Bombas come to mind, who had pioneered the 1:1 giving model and I thought, wouldn’t it be great if we could do something like that? Then I hit on the idea of partnering with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. We had done a group volunteer day there a few months prior and I thought this could really be a terrific partnership. It would be a way for our team to help build community and do something for those most in need. After all our job is feeding people, right? The idea was to donate one meal through the food bank, through direct cash support, for every guest that we serve at our events. Since we started doing this, we’ve donated over a quarter million meals to the food bank and are still going strong. Read more>>

Yes, giving back has been an integral part of our company since day one. We donate a percentage of each sale to various organizations that support those in need. Our very first partner was Family Promise, the nation’s foremost organization addressing family homelessness. Since then, we’ve embraced a rotating approach, contributing to different charities to support a diverse range of causes. This commitment not only allows us to make a positive impact but also reflects our values as a company. Read more>>

Yes, I’m deeply passionate about supporting children’s wellbeing and education. That’s why I have partnered with UNICEF to help support the needs of kids around the globe. Every limited-edition fine art print I sell directly supports UNICEF’s “school-in-a-box” program, ensuring that at least 40 children receive educational supplies they need to learn and grow. I have been working with UNICEF for over 7 years and have had the privilege of volunteering in 6 countries. Seeing the impact of their programs firsthand – meeting the children, listening to their stories, and connecting with the dedicated teachers – has only strengthened by commitment to doing more for this cause. My hope is that my art not only brings a piece of joy and positivity into people’s homes, but also provides children a chance to education and a healthy life. Read more>>

The business finances are structured to align with a Profit First model. From the outset, 10% of revenue has been designated for a “Giving” account. I manage finances on both a personal and business level, operating under the principle that 90% of incoming funds are mine to manage, while 10% is given as an expression of trust and surrender. One of the organizations benefiting from these donations is Let Them Live. The first time I encountered their mission statement, I was immediately supportive: “73% of women seek abortions due to financial strain. Let Them Live provides financial assistance to empower them to choose life instead.” Contributing to this cause is a tangible way to assist women facing challenging, life-changing decisions. Supporting these mothers financially can help with expenses such as medical visits, baby registry items, bills, food, education, job placement, housing, and counseling. It’s a chance to engage in a life-giving solution. Read more>>

At The Real Bonne Vivante, our passion for travel goes beyond exploration—it’s about leaving a positive impact on the places we visit. I’m Rachel Larkin, the founder of The Real Bonne Vivante, and I believe that responsible travel means more than just seeing the world; it’s about giving back. Donating a percentage of sales is one way we align our values with action. Supporting environmental and climate initiatives, as well as community-driven philanthropy, is central to our mission. For every destination we cover, we actively seek out local individuals, businesses, or organizations that could benefit from funding, focusing on those who directly impact their communities. This approach allows us to connect with people on the ground, hear their stories, and understand the positive changes they are driving. Through these personal connections, we aim to make a meaningful and lasting difference. Read more>>

When I started my company A Joyful Rose, part of my vision was to be able to photograph children of all abilities. I want to show the beauty we all have. I also love to give back, and I am always up for an event where I give my time and/or some proceeds to a cause or specific organization. Read more>>
