-Learn what actual ‘rest’ looks and feels like, and how to channel it. I love working and it’s easy for me to work long hours. I like to use the 7 types of rest to figure out which one or multiple ones I need and then pick an activity, since my job is in the creative world I often I need creative rest -no painting or creating things, knitting, they make me more tired because I actually need creative rest and not to create anything, and more mental rest and sensory rest -like listening to music or cleaning up my space so it’s not overwhelming. Knowing what I now know, I would have started my business sooner. I am 44. I became a full-time entrepreneur at 40, and I am tired. I feel I understand the saying “youth is wasted on the young” a lot better these days. While I recognize that I still have more in me to give and to receive, I was much more creative, dreaming more, willing to take more risk, with more zest in my younger years. So the lesson for me from that which is currently feeding me now is be audacious, willing to take risk sooner, not when you’ve had enough of your job. Instead, bet on yourself when the dream first comes channeling that youthful energy towards fueling your own dream versus someone else’s dream. Go and find a small business association company that mentors the development of small business. Get with a mentor and ask questions, even the ones you think that are not ideal to your liking. Never give up or yourself when facing obstacles. Save, just as simple as it sound save. Never rush into anything without research. If I could start over I would do more research on managing a business. When I first stared I was super exited about starting a business but did not know how to manage my money, social media, or manage inventory. I bough things I though I could us and ended up never using it because I conveninced myself I could use it one day. Once example I would buy the cheap balloon and think it can do the same as more expensive brand. when i figure it out that the luxury band is better its almost like i had a light bulb moment i changed the way I operated my business.
