We asked some brilliant folks to tell us about the best advice they’ve ever given to a client and have highlighted some of the responses below.

As a trainer, I don’t have one particular example that sticks out, but the best advice I have found I can give to clients when they first start working with me, especially those looking to lose weight, is that almost universally “feeling better” precedes “looking better.” By this I mean if you have been either completely sedentary or inconsistent with exercise, as many of us have been the last few years more than ever due to the pandemic, the best thing I have found that you can do to optimize your chances of reaching the personal goals you might have is to simply get your body moving consistently, doing simple things like walking daily and ideally incorporating some form of resistance training a couple of times a week is a great place to start. We strongly recommend to all of our clients that they truly take the time to interview and select the best people for their support team. Including your provider! So many people do not realize that they can make appointments with their prospective doctors and midwives to see if your goals align with theirs. What is their outlook on birth? Do they require their patients to be induced by a specific week? Do they ask for consent before touching you? Read more>>

I work with a former NFL running back who initially found me through his golf swing instructor. The main reason he sought help was to improve his hip mobility, drive distance, and increase his club head speed. In those first few months we had to make modifications to the ELDOA exercises because he was so stiff and muscle bound. Read more>>

The best advice I ever gave to a client was that you never know what’s around the corner. I typically talk to clients about this using examples from their experiences as well as occasionally self-disclosing how this reminder has shown up in my own life. I’ve had a number of situations in my life where anxious feelings were tough to manage, mostly focused on things that I wanted to happen in my life and worried they wouldn’t. Read more>>

I started my chiropractic practice in January of 2020. It was already a challenge starting off as I had just gotten out of contracted position that didn’t go well. Regardless, I was excited to take the step and do things on my own. I had found an office with a small space for rent, and I got going. In the first few days, I had mailed out postcards and business cards to just about anyone I could. Over the next few weeks, my schedule began to fill up and I started seeing some quick growth. The greatest piece of advice that I have ever given a client is to refocus their lens from everyone and everything else to themselves. As women, we pile on many things and we are many people to others which ultimately leads to us pushing ourselves into the background. We begin to diminish ourselves to help build or cater to other’s; being a resource is not the issue, forgetting who you are, forgetting to add in self-care, mindfulness, and exercise becomes the problem. I’m a psychotherapist. The majority of the clients that seek my services do so because they’ve been disappointed. Disappointment can come from many different sources i.e,, parents, partners, friends, colleagues or choices. So, what do we do, when we’re disappointed. I impress upon my client’s to ‘trust the process’ of therapy to learn how to cope in the face of life’s disappointments. Read more>>

As a Business Consultant, I get so many Entrepreneurs that come up with business ideas but don’t know where to start. My best advice to my clients is to do their research and learn about the market that they are entering. Write down your ideas, brainstorm, and develop a plan to execute your idea. Becoming a successful Entrepreneur does not start overnight. It takes time to build a brand that is a reflection of your mission. Read more>>

To every client we meet for the first time, whether or not they are in our sphere or are referred to us, we offer the same advise. ” We are on your team. We will treat you like family. Please don’t worry until we tell you to worry. Please don’t search the internet for answers to your questions. Please come to us and if we don’t know the answer, we will find someone who does.” Read more>>
