When I think about legacy, my mind races… On one hand, I think of the great musicians and photographers through the ages, and think about how their art has impacted me personally, and of course, I aspire to that. But I believe that our legacy is made up of a lifetime of everyday moments, much more so than the bright shiny accomplishments that win us awards. Building legacy is similar to building a brand, it’s done little by little over time. Read more>>

I am a member of the North Fulton SWAT Crisis Negotiation Team, a proud member of the Bike Patrol Unit, and I cherish my role as an Advisor for the Alpharetta Police Exploring Post 919: Every time I negotiate it is beautifully terrifying. A true honor, a privilege to be let into a person’s innermost thoughts. The place where only they have been, their solace from the storms of life. To be allowed to sit with them in their greatest moments of fear is a beautiful thing that I never take for granted. Read more>>

Instead, he was bullied relentlessly for all the things that made him special and unique. This, coupled with mental health issues, caused him to take his life at the age of 13. I came to see that the children who had tormented him had been taught that it was ok to treat others badly. Read more>>

I hope my legacy will be one of joy and love. I have a two-year-old son, and when I think about him as an adult looking back on his childhood growing up, I want him to think about how warm & safe I made him feel, how supportive my husband and I were, and how much fun we had together going on adventures and learning about the world together. My mom passed away when I was 21 years old, so my mind always goes to family first when I think about legacy. She left a legacy of love & care, and I want to emulate that as best as I can for my family. Read more>>
