Our community is fortunate to have so many brilliant, insightful entrepreneurs and creatives and so many of them have front row, ground level seats that allow them to see emerging trends before the so-called experts, industry leaders, etc. We wanted to create a space to connect members of our community where they could share these insights on trends and opportunities they are seeing.

The accounting industry is rapidly changing and this change has been turbo charged by the COVID-19 pandemic. Firstly automation and technology is playing a major role in how work is done. Transactions are auto fed into QuickBooks and other accounting platforms. Management of CPA firms is also changing with advanced practice management software and tech stacks that sit on the cloud. The second trend we see is the ability to work remotely. Team members are now able to work from home if they have a doctors appointment or a family obligation. Many firms are going 100% remote. We however feel that a 100% remote practice will impact team collaboration as the close relationships and mentorship formed within a physical office environment is difficult to replicate in a virtual environment. Afternoon Tea Boxes are here to stay. Pandemic restaurant restrictions inspired the advent of the Afternoon Tea Box (for curbside pick-up, local delivery or nationwide shipment). Tearooms in 2020 began designing pretty ways to tuck all the elements of an afternoon tea menu into a neat box. Teas, finger sandwiches, scones and desserts with edible flowers and mini containers of jam and cream allow friends to set-up a delicious at-home tea party without all the food prep. Some even include teacups, cutlery, party plates or tiered trays, to make setting a gorgeous tea table easy. Read more>>

Unfortunately the biggest trends in MY industry is the repetitive deceptive marketing tactics! The definition of deceptive marketing “is the use of false and/or misleading information to capture the attention of the consumer through the usage of false information to persuade buyers into a business transaction that will not typically be beneficial to you but “yes” beneficial to the one doing the deceptive advertising.” So, what do I mean when I say this? Many artists in my field continue to use marketing terms to mask the fact that we are creating a tattoo. Read more>>

Ig Workshop has been an operating interior design form for 8 years in Miami . We are seeing a huge boom in the Miami real estate market. With that, we are seeing a shift in design styles, budgets, and interpretation of miami architecture. The migration coupled with increase of instagram as a sourcing tool has really changed the design narrative. Miami used to be an art deco haven, now we are seeing a much more natural approach to design. This refers to color palates, material selection, lighting selection etc. Everything is becoming more about bringing nature into the home. Warmer neutral tones, softer materials and less use of Lacquer. Read more.>>

The biggest trend that I am seeing in the industry is history repeating itself. From 1970 wallpaper prints on denim to street styles from the 1990s (mid-drift sweaters, oversized jackets, Dr. Marten boots), they all have a 20th century twist. It’s good to see some things coming back but others not so much! Read more>>

“It is only in our darkest hours that we may discover the true strength of the brilliant light within ourselves that can never, ever, be dimmed.” -Doe Zantamata The year 2020 brought the entire world to a standstill, and difficult times made Green City Recycler have to think of ways to survive in adversity. Just as diamonds go through harsh treatment to get their shine, the textile recycling industry had to evolve and adapt. Gone were the days when folks took their bags to a local donation bin/store or hand-me-down shop. In the age of Uber Eats, Amazon Prime and Instacart where we have products arriving at our doorstep, textile recycling’s next step is curbside service. Read more>>

Not only in our local communities but all over the world I am noticing strong, talented, and truly inspiring women embrace the ‘odd and unusual’, making their one of a kind art and leaving a positive impact for change in a very relatable way. We are not super heroes but we are taking back our power and rising above. What was once more predominantly male industries are being forever changed for the good. I see this happening not only in the oddity world, but the tattooing community and even in my newest chapter of work in the funeral home industry. Read more>>

In my industry some of the biggest trends I’m seeing is natural hair in the black hair care industry. With relaxers, wigs installs and stress contributing to hair loss, African American women are looking for a more natural approach to black hair care. Wigs have become a big trend because people have the desire to change their hairstyles as a way to reflect their own individuality. Traditional installs are slowly but surely making a comeback. The rise of tech is one of the biggest trends I’m seeing in the Marketing Industry. The most common question I get from my clients is: Which new technology will be the biggest thing to hit marketing? Here’s the surprising answer that I give them: Don’t get excited about specific technologies. Instead, focus on how these technologies are changing the fundamental nature of marketing. The tools, processes, and technologies available have changed the way marketers interact with customers, both positively & negatively. Read more>>

Old is new and vintage is cool again! I mean it was always cool to us but it’s definitely intrigued and captured the younger generation. Online access and drop shipping copy paste disposible furniture has really flooded the market and I think now more than ever, quality, real materials, and unique style have become the new black. The marketing machine feeding consumers “this is in” or “this is what you want” vs the treasure hunt to find your own personal subject style is alive and well and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Having worked in the voiceover industry for over 25 years, I’ve seen a great deal of change. In the past, it was mainly actors with experience doing commercials and narration who were hired for most jobs. Today, with the advent of easy home studio setup, people from all walks of life and careers are getting into voiceover careers. Many people start after they’ve retired from other industries and careers. It brings a wide variety of voices, styles and a “realness” to the table. I’m also hearing more diversity in casting of voiceover jobs. It’s not just white, male “announcer” styles anymore, which is a good thing. Read more>>

As a wedding photographer in Dallas, I’m at the forefront of wedding trends and seeing how events have changed over time. 2022 is a wildly popular year for weddings because people are ready to celebrate! There are an estimated 2.5 million weddings happening this year which is the most since 1984. It’s been a privilege to be able to continue safely running my business during the pandemic and I’ve noticed a big shift in weddings during the past couple of years. Traditionally, SEO was all about getting your website ranked. So when you Google “veterinarian in boca raton” our job would be getting your vet to rank for that keyword, amongst others. While this is still our primary goal, one trend we are starting to see is customers wanting “featured snippets” in the search results. What do I mean by this? When you Google someone’s name e.g. Elon Musk, you don’t just see search results or a list of websites about him. You see his photo, Read more>>

The thing that sticks out most to me is how censored everything has become. We are now living in a very censored world, from our mainstream media outlets to our social media. We have seen the mainstream media become propagandized and the information is now manipulated to be used for their own personal benefits. Many people are becoming aware of the misinformation and are now seeking answers from other sources, such as uncensored media platforms. We are seeing people push away from mainstream media because they are hungry for the TRUTH! Read more>>
