Stories are one of the most powerful ways to learn because they allow us to understand at a deeper level. One of the most important things an business owner can do is help their clients win and so we wanted to create a space where the community can learn from each other’s experiences of how they’ve helped their clients succeed.

• Appreciate you for joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken. Well… launching our advanced massage therapy clinic, Interstellar Massage, was a HUGE risk in and of itself. There was a risk to NOT opening it, and a risk TO opening it. It is one of the most impactful experiences of my life. My best friend and husband passed away in May 2024, which was a devastating blow to my mind, my heart, my general motivation for life, and to my career as a newly licensed massage therapist. Grief ran me over like a freight train, the weight of it was merciless and there was literally no escaping those feelings. I’d never lost someone this close to me before, and the reality of it is that it’s like being trapped in an absolute tornado of emotional destruction on the inside. I joined several widow’s support groups online and I saw story after story of the devastating impact that this type of loss can and has had on countless lives. It can potentially completely uproot someone’s entire life and demolish their life/career/education/financial progress in SO many ways. I knew I had to think fast or I wasn’t going to “make it.” Our entire lives changed in that moment, and for a little while it was really unclear what the best way forward was. I was scared of losing our life that my husband and I had built together here in Houston, where some of our fondest memories as a family have been formed. Read more>>

My most meaningful customer success stories come when I am able to take a client’s treasured personal item and repurpose it and give it new life. A couple of years ago a client came to me with her late father’s welding jacket and her favorite pair of boots. She wanted a purse made that incorporated these items. I was able to build her a purse with part of the boot top incorporated into a pocket, and the welding jacket became the lining and fringe of the purse. She was so excited to be able to carry the memories of her father with her everywhere she went. It was very gratifying to see the excitement and joy on her face when she received the purse. I had this beloved brother in my church. Who purchased two of the custom brand shirts from my business UNFA(Unshackled Faith Apparel) online clothing store. And upon him receiving them as I help him track it moving through out the postal services. I saw him the day of our service and afterwards we had what we call a fellowship lunch together. And I can remember him coming up to me and saying how he loves the shirts he’s gotten and how they’re two of his favorite bible verse as well something that was dear to his heart. That also reminded him of what THE MOST HIGH has told him and showed over the years to keep his faith strong. The shirt that most peirced him through the heart. Is the brand shirt called Ye Are The Light. Which comes from scripture in Matt 5:14-16. Which is something I as well felt holds a special place in my heart just as the beloved brother does. Transforming a Nonprofit’s Digital Presence: The St. Louis Empowerment Center Story When Sarah Earll first reached out to me about the St. Louis Empowerment Center, I could immediately see both the challenges and the incredible potential. Here was an organization doing vital work for St. Louis’s unhoused population, but they struggled to build the donor base they needed to sustain and grow their impact. As we sat down for our initial consultation, I knew we had an opportunity to create something special. The Center’s digital presence wasn’t telling their story effectively. Their branding was inconsistent across platforms, their website wasn’t optimized for donor engagement, and they lacked the systems needed to build and maintain relationships with supporters. But beneath these technical challenges, I saw an organization with powerful stories to tell and meaningful work to share. Read more>>

A restaurant came to me with a desire to grow. They’ve been open for a few years, and doing well, but stuck, They didn’t feel like they were getting ahead, only keeping up. They want to work ON the business not IN the business. They want growth, After just a couple months of collecting and analyzing their data and processes, as well as conversations on challenges and steps to overcoming them, they are projected to save over 100,000 in the next year. That pays to hire another manager PLUS some upgrades & marketing! And they’re just scratching the surface. All we helped them do was make adjustments in their inventory & ordering guides, introduced them to our network of resources, and provided tools for tracking & forecasting costs, sales, & labor. The business that I am in for both of my careers is all about building relationships. When you truly connect with people it is key and makes it feel less like work. . I met a client a couple years ago who was getting makeup services done by me for her son’s wedding she was a part of. She wasn’t a makeup person, meaning she didn’t wear any on a daily basis nor did she feel comfortable with having much on for this particular day. This is very common in my industry for special events which is why people hire professionals so they don’t have to worry about doing it themselves. This particular person was a bit on edge to have to get makeup done because she didn’t want to feel or look like someone she is not or “look like a clown” by having tons of makeup packed on. Which is also a common misconception for getting makeup done professionally. Read more>>
