We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alia Khatib a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alia, appreciate you joining us today. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
Worst investment: investing in productivity coach instead of an obm or coo , wasted 3 months and $3000
after 1 year in my business i knew i needed help in managing my time and projects as i was all over the place and something i struggled with all my life and now that im running my own biz i needed proper help
little did i know that she was a coach that was transitioning from fitness coach to productivity and then to video/reel/ business fitness coach!
it was helpful for just 1 month to be honest. Lesson learned is that value of a coach is not from how many followers they have, she had 10k on IG. Later i realized that most where following her from her pervious fitness coaching and competitions she was doing.
I would def recommend you invest in an actual online biz manager who would be full hands on in your business and manage it and manage you. Now i have finally hired one after 1 year of hesitating to hire someone to help me on that and im so excited on all the work we will work on to grow/scale my business faster and have quantum leaps!

So Im originally lebanese and have relocated last year to barcelona due to economical and political instability. I have studied marketing and been in marketing and business for last 12 years, working in different industries and cities.
after living 2 years in thailand learning maui thai and taking time off to reassess my life and work on my health and mindset, i stumbled on a mastermind that was all about how to start your own digital marketing agency. That was the first time i paid $3000 right on a zoom call! Its been an exciting last 2.5 years being in the online space and learning and growing my own business and my clients

How did you build your audience on social media?
so there is 2 ways to grow your social media, inbound and outbound. inbound means getting leads from content or blogs or your website vs outbound where you proactively do outreach to find and connect with leads and followers.
creating content and building website traffic through seo and blogging is a long term strategy, with the right strategy, consistency, persistence and strong branding and messaging, you can create domino effect of leads and biz growth overtime. You do this by showing up on social media, creating content, engaging or being social on the platform where your ideal clients are hanging out. Reels/tiktoks is now the fastest way to build social media presence and following. Instagram is great for nurturing and building communities, as well as facebook groups.
outbound marketing is going out there and finding potential clients online, i love using linkedin for that as its super easy to find exactly who im looking to work with and would be a great match for my business. I also find potential clients using instagram search and follow them to raise my brand awareness and keep nurturing these relationships
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
LINKEDIN – i preach this to everyone! im a linkedin consultant for last 2 years and i teach and educate others on this platform because of its amazing results and roi for myled and my clients its super fast and easy to find laser focused clients who are serious potential leads vs the ones you might find on other platforms
linkedin main difference and power is that its a business networking platform vs the others that are social media platforms
i offer few free resources to educate others on power of linkedin, who should get on it, and how you can generate 10+ sales calls per month from it
