Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zaina Battah. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Zaina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I’m unquestionably happier as an artist and creative. I’ve grown as an artist in ways I never could have imagined in a full-time job. Making music has pulled me in so many unexpected and challenging directions — emotionally, creatively, and spiritually — and while by far it hasn’t been easy, it has been deeply alive! My only regret is not starting sooner.
That said, I’d be lying if I said the thought of a stable, stress-free full-time job never crosses my mind but then I remember that I’ve been there. I remember exactly how I felt behind a desk: limited, and unfulfilled. I felt I was wasting life by not creating. That feeling is something I never forget.
I’m incredibly grateful for the 10 years I spent in the corporate world and for my real estate journey, which continues to be my side hustle. Both gave me the foundation and capacity to do what I do now. I believe in balance, and even in the midst of the chaos I call life, I’ve finally found a version of it that feels right.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I don’t consider myself a singer—I see myself as a visionary, an artist, a creator, and definitely a host of vibes. Recently, I discovered that my purpose in life is to entertain and inspire. I’ve realized how important it is to build a life you love, and I’m passionate about supporting independent artists and all forms of entertainment.
My projects focus on spreading powerful stories and messages through music and visual storytelling. Many of my music videos, which you can find on YouTube @only1zaina, are designed to feel like cinematic experiences—they’re intimate, emotional, and deeply personal, often reflecting moments from my own life. Every song, video, or project I create has a story to tell, and I aim to connect with people in a meaningful way.
In addition to my music, I’m developing a creative business that provides a wide range of support for other creatives. I’m for creating spaces where people can come together and vibe as well as for inspiring others to tap into their creativity. At the heart of everything I do is connection, authenticity, and a desire to spark joy and inspiration through art.
What I’m most proud of is the ability to turn my personal journey into projects that resonate with others and create experiences that feel real, memorable, and transformative. For anyone following my work, I want them to know that it’s about more than music or entertainment—it’s about storytelling, connection, and celebrating the art of living fully.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I just love talking about this book “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz. When I read this book, it literally felt like I smoked something—the way it illustrates the energy within life and how your behaviour influences everything you see and do is just mind-blowing. I couldn’t stop raving about it to my friends, calling it a total game-changer, and I even lent out a few copies that I never got back! This book marked the beginning of a new reality for me, shaping the energy I bring into every situation.
Prior to that and what started this new “energy” focused way of life is definitely “The Law of Attraction” both the book and documentary—taught me how important mindset is and how focus, energy, and action influences the life we create. That along with the movie/documentary “What the Bleep Do We Know” had a huge impact on me. A blend of science, consciousness, and possibility in such a way that stretches your mind to new ways of thinking.
These resources were powerful tools for me. They made me rethink the way I interact with the world, and manage my energy to manifest a magical life, They taught me that mindset, intention, and awareness aren’t just ideas—they’re practical tools to shape how we create reality. If someone is willing to open their mind, these three can truly spark significant change in how they move in all aspects of life.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The biggest lesson I’ve had to unlearn is the idea of giving people the love I deserve. For most of my life, I poured that level of love, energy, and support into everyone around me, and I couldn’t understand why I kept getting mistreated or taken for granted.
That realization really came to light when I built a business centered around giving creatives the love I deserved. While there were incredible moments and meaningful connections, I stretched myself far too thin. I wasn’t receiving the care, respect, or appreciation I deserved, and it eventually took a toll on me. I had to walk away from people I considered close, and everything reached a point where I had to ghost my energy, take step back, reassess my boundaries, my behaviors, and the way I was giving.
The breakthrough was realizing it’s not about giving people the love you deserve—it’s about giving people the love they deserve. That shift changed everything. I re-centered myself, protected my energy, and started aligning with the bigger picture I’d always envisioned. I’m still building and giving back creatively, but now from a place of balance and self-respect. I may have lost a piece of my heart in the process, but that was the cost of learning a lesson that ultimately changed my life.
