We recently connected with Yoni Avni and have shared our conversation below.
Yoni, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I discovered Classical Pilates in 2003, and it was love at first movement. Immediately, I felt how powerful this practice was not just for the body, but for the mind, the energy field, and the spirit. Pilates gave me more than strength and flexibility—it gave me a deep sense of alignment, both inside and out.
As I committed more deeply to the method, I knew I had found my calling. After 14 years of teaching alongside my teachers, I opened my own studio and dedicated myself to sharing this work with others. My clients showed systemic improvements as I helped them feel seen, supported, and deeply connected to themselves, while guiding them toward powerful healing and a pain-free lifestyle.
My mission is to heal the world through Classical Pilates. I want to educate people to become their own healers, to tune in, listen to their bodies, and take responsibility for their well-being. True healing isn’t something someone else gives you. It’s something you actively participate in.
This philosophy wasn’t just something I taught, it was something I had to live.
During one of the most difficult chapters of my life, I went through a painful and emotionally draining divorce. It shook the ground beneath me. I lost my sense of safety, identity, and stability. There were days I could barely get out of bed. But Pilates gave me a place to process the pain. On the mat, I found my breath again. I moved through the grief, the anger, the fear. Slowly, movement by movement, I rebuilt my life and rebuilt myself.
Then, I was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, a rare condition affecting the facial nerves, causing paralysis, intense pain, and dizziness. Once again, I was tested physically and emotionally. It affected my confidence, my speech, even my balance. But I refused to let it define me. I used Pilates as a rehabilitation tool, focusing on breath control, core support, and nervous system recovery. I also leaned on the spiritual strength I’d cultivated through this work. Slowly, my face healed. My confidence returned.
Hormonal imbalances were another part of the journey—something many women face but don’t talk about enough. Pilates helped me navigate perimenopause, fatigue, mood shifts, and body changes. Through consistent practice, I found balance again, physically and emotionally.
All of these experiences deepened my understanding of the body as a sacred vessel. They taught me compassion, resilience, and the power of conscious movement.
That’s why I do this work. Classical Pilates has carried me through the hardest moments of my life. It’s not just about getting toned or strong, it’s about returning to yourself. A homecoming to the body and soul.
My mission is to offer tools and hold space for others to reconnect with their bodies, rewrite the stories that no longer serve them, and restore harmony to their nervous systems and lives.
Like Joseph Pilates once said, “We can truly heal the world”—and I believe that with all my heart.
After my divorce, I knew I wanted to make this work more accessible. I launched my Pilates app to give people an affordable way to practice from home—because in-studio sessions can be cost-prohibitive for many. I also created a Classical Pilates Teacher Training Program to share the method in its purest form and help others step into their purpose.
My biggest vision? To one day build a nonprofit organization that sponsors women who are rebuilding their lives after toxic marriages. I want to support them in reclaiming their health, their confidence, and their future. That’s the heart of my mission and why this work means everything to me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a Classical Pilates teacher, studio owner, and founder of an online Pilates platform dedicated to healing through movement. I discovered Classical Pilates in 2003 and instantly knew I had found something life changing not just for my body, but for my spirit. What began as a personal practice quickly became a calling. After 14 years of teaching alongside my mentors, I opened my own studio and have since dedicated my life to helping others heal, transform, and reconnect with their bodies through this powerful method.
My business is centered around offering high quality, authentic Classical Pilates instruction both in person and online. I teach private sessions, and also offer a Pilates app for people who want to experience the method from the comfort of their home at an accessible price point. I recently launched a Teacher Training Program to pass on the original work and help develop the next generation of thoughtful, intuitive, and compassionate teachers.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach. I don’t just teach movement, I hold space for healing. A common sentiment I’ve heard from many clients is that they come to me for Pilates, but stay for the transformation. I blend deep anatomical understanding with fascia release techniques, energy work, and a strong intuitive connection to help clients not only feel better physically but to feel whole again.
I work with people of all ages, backgrounds, and conditions, from athletes to individuals with chronic pain or neurological challenges. One of the stories I’m most proud to share is about a client who is about to celebrate his 87th birthday. He has been working with me for seven years, ever since he moved to Las Vegas. When he was just 13, he contracted polio, which completely paralyzed the right side of his abdominal area near the hip. Over the years, this caused significant imbalances in his body: his right shoulder blade became misaligned and protruded, which pulled his left side out of balance and caused pain and dysfunction throughout his structure.
Through consistent Pilates work and fascia release, we began to gently unwind the tension in his body one layer at a time. Recently, something miraculous happened: for the first time in decades, he began to feel a heartbeat in the area that had been paralyzed since childhood. It was a profound moment for both of us. A reminder of how healing is always possible, no matter your age or history.
What I want people to know is this: Classical Pilates is so much more than exercise. It’s a return to yourself. My mission is to make this method accessible, transformative, and deeply healing. Whether you’re recovering from trauma, navigating life transitions, or simply seeking more vitality and strength, this work can meet you where you are, and elivate you to your highest potencial.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I help people get real results and get out of pain. No fluff, no gimmicks, no watered down trends. I stay true to the Classical Pilates method because it works. My approach is deeply focused, precise, and rooted in the belief that everybody can heal when given the right tools and support.
Clients come to me with chronic pain, postural imbalances, injuries, or emotional stress and together, we work toward transformation. They feel seen, they feel supported, and most importantly, they feel better. That’s what keeps them coming back, and that’s what has built my reputation: consistent, lasting, meaningful results.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Many of my life experiences taught me to stay in my body and choose healing, over and over again, even when life broke me open. One of the most difficult chapters of my life was going through a painful and emotionally draining divorce. It shook everything—my sense of safety, identity, and stability. There were mornings I couldn’t get out of bed. But I kept showing up on the mat. Pilates became my anchor. Through breath and movement, I processed grief, anger, and fear. I moved through the pain, literally one session at a time, and slowly began to rebuild myself from the inside out.
Just when I felt like I was finding balance again, I was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, a rare condition that caused facial paralysis, nerve pain, and dizziness. It impacted my speech, my confidence, and even my ability to teach. I felt like my body had betrayed me. But again, I returned to my practice. I leaned on the strength I had cultivated through years of Classical Pilates, not just physical strength, but emotional and spiritual resilience. I focused on breathwork, nervous system support, and core connection. Little by little, I healed. My face recovered, my energy returned, and so did my voice, both physically and metaphorically.
These experiences didn’t break me. They shaped me. They deepened my compassion, sharpened my intuition, and made me a more powerful teacher and guide. Resilience isn’t about being unshakable—it’s about allowing life to move through you and still choosing to rise.
