We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Wait, Qué? Podcast a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Wait, qué?, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
After entering the pandemic (due to exceptional boredom and the need for a creative outlet) we decided to start a blog, which soon became a marketing agency. As we worked and spent extended periods of time together, we had even more profound, interesting, and funny conversations. We kept joking that we should just start a podcast. So, in February of 2022 we did. Thus, Wait, qué? was born.

Wait, qué?, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Wait, qué? is a podcast where the three of us (Rachel, Andrea, and Frida) navigate all the things we once considered “normal” but actually don’t make much sense. Our podcast is about having “aha moments,” but arriving at those through dark humor, improvised therapy, years of friendship, and a whole lot of Spanglish.
As we continue having moments of self-discovery, challenging our beliefs, and forming new perspectives, we hope to share ideas and connect with people willing to challenge their views and laugh at the absurdity of existence.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
The three of us met and became friends in school in Caracas, Venezuela. We remained close friends through college and until today! Rach has known Fri and Andry since 2009 when she joined their school. Fri and Andry have known each other since they were 9 years old (2004). We all became instant friends and see each other like sisters.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Yes, definitely! We’ve been positively influenced by Brené Brown and Glennon Doyle. Brené’s work on vulnerability and leadership, especially in her book Dare to Lead, has been a true inspiration. Glennon Doyle’s Untamed has also been a game-changer for us, especially when it comes to embracing authenticity and trusting our own instincts as entrepreneurs. Also, Burnout by Emily and Amelia Nagoski has been incredibly impactful. It has helped us understand the importance of managing stress, giving us really simple tactics that we implement on a daily basis – ones that keep us from responding to a Powerpoint deck the way we would to a grizzly bear – while also staying connected to what truly matters.
