Alright, Viviana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

Naming my business Capistrano Sudsery was an exciting journey. I am proud to call San Juan Capistrano my home, and I wanted my business name to reflect my local roots and the essence of what I create – high-quality, artisanal soap and bath and body products.

As I brainstormed, I kept circling back to the charming and historic nature of San Juan Capistrano. I realized that I could play with the idea of ‘suds’ in my soap business name, capturing the essence of what I do playfully and memorably. So, Capistrano Sudsery was born! The name pays homage to my hometown and adds a whimsical touch by incorporating ‘suds,’ which is a nod to the bubbly and luxurious nature of the soaps I create. It’s more than just a name; it’s a story that reflects the heart and soul I put into each handmade soap bar.

I believe that a good business name should tell a story, and Capistrano Sudsery does just that. It encapsulates the spirit of San Juan Capistrano, the craftsmanship of my products, and a bit of wordplay to keep things light and fun. I am excited to share this story with my customers and hope they feel connected to the product and the place we call home.

Let me share how I delved into soap making, especially for those who want to become more familiar with my business. Growing up with a dad who had skin issues heightened my awareness of the challenges individuals face with various skin conditions. This experience has deeply influenced my perspective, motivating me to create products that address specific skincare needs and contribute to the overall well-being of those using them. I commented to my mom that I wanted to learn how to make soap, and she learned to teach me about lye safety. I was hooked and started researching and experimenting with different ingredients and recipes to make all types of soap bars.

What distinguishes me from other soap makers is my unique approach to infusing premium organic olive oil with beneficial ingredients, paying attention to the quality of ingredients, and omitting unnecessary elements while honing my craft to perfection.

For me, it’s not just about creating soap; it’s about making a meaningful difference in the skincare journey of each person who experiences Capistrano Sudsery. One of the moments that fills me with immense pride is witnessing the positive impact of my products on individuals dealing with various skin conditions. Knowing that my soaps are a healthy experience for all is incredibly gratifying.

At the onset of my soap-making journey, I faced a manageable learning curve that tested my resilience. In those early stages, each step felt like an unfolding lesson, and a particular experience serves as a testament to my unwavering determination. I vividly remember my challenges while turning my soap designs from sketches to reality. Despite my meticulous planning, the actual outcome often deviated from my expectations. Soap-making demands precision; timing and swift action are crucial to prevent mishaps, even if your design isn’t quite ready. The pressure to make soap swiftly while maintaining the intended design was a delicate balance that required both skill and adaptability and it took me a while to learn to balance. Each imperfect batch became a stepping stone toward refinement. Now, with experience on my side, I am better prepared to turn every sketch into a beautifully crafted soap, knowing that resilience and adaptability are key ingredients in the intricate world of soap making.

Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?

We bring the goodness of our natural soaps made with organic ingredients directly to you! Meet us at pop-up events or through our online site or local businesses; we love connecting with you. Nothing beats the joy of seeing our soaps find a new home in your hearts. We have wholesale opportunities to share our natural soap bars with fellow businesses at a wholesale rate while spreading the love in bulk. Craft personalized or large-volume orders for special events, weddings, or corporate gatherings with our white-label soap and add that personal touch to your brand, making it uniquely yours. We love collaborating with other businesses to brew up something special. Limited editions and co-branded delights because creating magic together adds sparkle to your natural journey.
