We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tyreq Miles a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tyreq, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
In order to be successful you have to be focused and disciplined. There’s no shortcut and no secret formula it’s just waking up everyday and putting in the work that will get you closer to your goal.

Tyreq, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a self taught artist from South Houston with a BS in accounting. I put together my unique talents in order to create my business Blacasso.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
After graduating from college I want to take my brand to the next level and become more of a influencer. Unfortunately, Covid happened and I was unable to move around and network in Houston. After being stuck in the house for months I stumbled across my art talents. So I tabled the whole influencer thing and decided to brand myself as a artist.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I used my job to fund my business. I invested into myself went broke doing it but it’s paying off now.
