We were lucky to catch up with Tyler Bachmann recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tyler, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
If I went back in time, I wish I could have started my creative journey sooner. I started my YouTube and Influencer journey early 2023. I have always wanted to create automotive content and had just purchased a Mustang, I saw it as an opportunity to start. I thought I had to put money into content before actually starting so I kept delaying and procrastinating, I was just unsure of myself. Looking back now, I realize people just want authenticity, not high dollar products or items to be shown. I would have started way sooner by just recording whatever I could related to what I do now.

Tyler, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Tyler, and I am a content creator, automotive and outdoor enthusiasts, and creative focused on the off-road, overland, and custom vehicle community. What started as a hobby for modifying and documenting my vehicles has grown to be a place where I create videos, photography, and storytelling around adventure, customization, and the lifestyle that comes with it.
My main focus is creating authentic automotive and outdoor content that feels real and relatable rather than overly polished or edited. Through my YouTube and social platforms, I document builds, product installs, camping trips, off-road adventures, and behind-the-scene looks into the automotive industry. I currently work with brands and shops such as Silo Hill Customs while also building my own personal brand.
One thing that sets me apart is I genuinely use and test the products, vehicles, and gear I talk about. Whether it’s taking my Canyon or Bronco on trails, building them into functional adventure rigs, or working directly with shops and manufacturers, I try to create content from firsthand experiences instead of just promotional videos. My audience connects with honesty, transparency, and the fact that I share both the successes and the issues that come with building vehicles and creating content.
I’m especially passionate about helping people fell inspired to start their own projects, travel more, and just experience life the way they want. I also enjoy combining creativity with business by helping brands and shops improve their social media presence through storytelling, photography, video production, and community engagement.
What I’m most proud of is growing community around authenticity, creativity, and adventure. I want people to follow my work to feel like they’re part of the journey rather than just watching content. My goal is to continue growing as a creator, expand into larger automotive and outdoor projects, and create content that motivates others to pursue what they’re passionate about.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the freedom that comes with it. I enjoy being able to make something that reflects me instead of just following what everyone else expects. I’m able to have the ability to make decisions based on what I genuinely enjoy and believe in,
I also love the fact that creative work allows you to connect with people on a personal level. Something as simple as a video, photo, or post can inspire others to start their own project, travel more, or pursue something they’ve been scared to try.
At the end of the day, it gives me a sense of independence, purpose, and fulfillment that’s hard to find elsewhere.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience by just being myself. I don’t try to “act” or be someone I’m not for the camera. Who I am on camera is the same person you’d meet walking down the street.
I started by just documenting things I really enjoy. Over time, people connected with my content because it was real and relatable.
One of the biggest lessons learned is that social media is supposed to be social. You don’t just make a post and forget about it. People will feel more connected or a part of something if you just simply respond. I try and respond to comments, answer questions, and actually interact with people who support my content. I think a lot of creators forget that the audience is the reason they’re able to do what they do. No matter how large someone’s following becomes, they’re not “better” than anyone else, and I think staying humble and approachable matters.
My advice for people just starting is to stop worrying about looking perfect and focus on being yourself and genuine. Post consistently, create content around things you truly care about, and don’t be discouraged if growth is slow at first. Building a loyal audience takes time. People will be more likely to follow someone who is authentic, helpful, and passionate than someone’s who is only chasing views or trends.
