We caught up with the brilliant and insightful William Ribbans a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
William, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
On November 1st 2023, I lost everything . Well thats an exaggeration, but some of my most promising music project files from the past 3 years in my musical journey were stored on a laptop that was stolen out of the back of my car. That laptop let off one final ping, one last gasp; a gps location at the Commanche Wells Apartment Complex in central Albuquerque. This is the location where the progress of these songs came to an unforeseen end.
Through my grieving process, I decided to release these lost demos in there current state, their most current exports. This album was appropriately named “The Comanche Wells Project”.
All 20 of these tracks were unfinished, whatever that means. They are released in various stages of completion; some unmixed or missing vocals. There is a variety of styles and genres on this release and a little something for everyone

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Will Ribbans [TrillBot] is a producer, DJ, and musician who began his musical journey from a young age when he first learned to play the guitar. He carried that initial spark into music production and live performance, where he established the name “TrillBot”. He has performed at local clubs, bars, celebrations and community events in his home state of New Mexico for over 10 years and won the Badlands Studio Beat battle in 2023.
TrillBot’s original sound has been characterized as melodic, organic and groovy, incorporating live instrumentation with modern electronic dance music elements. Not confined to one genre or tempo, TrillBot’s sound explores multiple creative avenues and strives to carve out his own niche in the electric music scene, He continues to bring positivity, charisma and energy to the dance floor at events and venues around New Mexico.
TrillBot takes on many forms as a music producer, house/dance DJ, and guitarist/vocalist for indie pop band Sun Sounds (@sun.sounds.music)
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative for me is the process. It is rare that the finished piece resembles where the project started. That is because I really try to not limit myself in my creative process or stick to a widely accepted formula or mold of a song. I will often start with a drum beat, write a guitar part, scrap the initial drum section, speed up the guitar and take it in another direction. I let the creativity flow in the moment and allow things to evolve as they will. Sometimes it gets me no where, but on those rare occasions it will take me somewhere very interesting and exciting. That process is addicting and usually leads me to my best work. I think you can hear that in my final products, and I am proud of that.
I love to share that process through beat videos which gives my audience an insider look at how I produce my music. I hope to inspire other creatives to do the same and just have fun with their art and passions.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I love to perform. I grew up the son of a drama teacher and there is something in me that loves to let it all out on stage. My long-term goal is to make the best music that is in me and ultimately perform those songs around the world. I am working tirelessly to reach bigger audiences and people who will connect with my music but also me as a creative.
My short term goal is to further define my style and musical niche. I bounce around a lot, but I think there is a consistent flavor across my work that I am constantly working on refining.
I’m also very motivated by inspiring and teaching others. I have learned so much from other creatives that I have looked up to that I want to spread the love on to up and comers.
