Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Travis Reigh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Travis, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I do wish I would have started my music business sooner. I absolutely LOVE what I do but I needed to put my time in, own my voice, and learn the ropes with performing and the business side. I started playing music at very young age of 13 and started singing on stage at the age of twenty. Back then it was cover music and learning how to perform to the best of my abilities. I started a group under my own name of “Travis Reigh’ and started releasing music I wrote over the years and it was the best move I ever made. While I did enjoy the fellow musicians I performed with and enjoying learning all I could, getting my own music out was the right choice for me going forward that allowed me to shelf my college degree. If there was a thing I would change about my experience it would be the timing. I wish I would have changed up and released songs and used my own name sooner, but I learned a lot so it had its pros and cons.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started learning music when my mother and brother deployed overseas after 9/11. It was a coping mechanism for me at the time and it helped me get through the time away from them. My grandmother and grandfather were also musicians that achieved a lot of success back in the 40s. Watching them I learned a lot about singing, writing, and performing.
One thing that separates us from most country bands is we bring a very very powerful show. We tend to jump around and entertain the best we can while staying sharp and solid on notes and tone. We also change it up so it’s never the same show. We tend to perform from the heart every time.
So far we are most proud of our stage show and award nominations. We have been nominated for best artist, and song of year by the Josie Music Awards at the Grand Ole Opry.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes there is! If I have it my way I want everyone to feel something when they listen to my music. If you need a good cry, or a good party I want you to play my music as loud as you can. That keeps me going and I can’t wait to see where it takes me in the future.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The fans for sure! They make the long drives, and light nights worth it. There’s many good aspects to it though. I love writing about what’s going on in my life. Sometimes I just enjoy writing even when there is nothing in particular to write about. I recommend anyone getting into the business to write, work on your stage show, and focus on the fans, Social media will follow.
