Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Titus Foxx. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Titus thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
My grandparents (the living and the deceased) because as I’ve gotten older and matured I realized the best thing that could of happened was all of them taking a part in making me who I am today. I lost my maternal grandparents as a teenager but have had the blessing of still having my paternal grandparents with me. Them teaching me very valuable skills and how to navigate through life has been a blessing. I feel I get my work ethic thru my paternal grandfather. I always believe in working hard even if I don’t have the urge and completing tasks. My grandfather is 88 and still feeds his horses two times daily and does auto body work and painting. My nonsense approach and speaking what is on my mind with the best intentions comes from my maternal grandfather(died from health issues in 2000). My want for helping people and going out of my way comes from both my maternal grandmother(died from health issues in 1993) and paternal grandmother(85yrs old). The only reason I continue to strive and do my best and push myself like I do is because I want to make them all proud. I don’t feel I’ve done that but I’m getting closer. Unlike alot of my other family both sets of my grandparents have always accepted me for who I am even if they didn’t agree but would help me in a instant if I had a problem.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Titus Foxx but my stage name is TFoxx and I’m a comedian out of Greensboro, NC. I’ve been doing comedy for about 6months and haven’t been this happy in a long time. It was something that I had pondered about for years and now realize I should’ve took it more seriously. I feel laughing is better than crying and I love to make people. As a kid even though I was a straight A student in school I was still a class clown. I have to give credit and thanks for the few people that pushed me to actually get into it. They have been my biggest support system. With the crazy life I’ve lived and the stories I have even though a lot more bad times than good but if sharing those experiences to people with humor on it makes them take they mind off something and laugh it makes me happy. I know my big chance is coming and I will continue too be funny until I get in the right room and make the connections I need to make.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I transitioned from the military to civilian life in 2004. I ended up homeless for six months simply because being 23yrs old I didn’t prepare. I had to learn how to put job applications in because it was something I hadn’t had to do in the past. Even though a terrible experience I’m glad it happened and made part of who I am today.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I enjoy taking my pain it into humor for people to laugh and take they mind off something else. Bringing people joy and making them smile makes me happy.
