We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tionna Marsh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tionna below.
Hi Tionna , thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
In March 2023, I made the decision to walk away from my job after having my last child. I had been in the education field for almost 10 years, and as much as I loved it, I knew I didn’t want to go back after maternity leave. After having my first child, I realized that teaching wasn’t bringing me the joy it once did. It felt like I was constantly being forced to choose between my career and my family—and I didn’t want to keep feeling that way.
I started thinking about other options, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized I didn’t want to return to a traditional job. I began looking for remote work, but no matter what I found, it didn’t seem to pay me what I felt I deserved. That’s when my husband encouraged me to take content creation more seriously. Honestly, I hadn’t fully considered it before, but I thought, “Why not?” So, I took a leap and decided to dive into it.
I started pouring my energy into producing content for my social media channel, @marshforeverhome. At first, it was just me sharing little moments from my life as a new stay-at-home mom and wife. I posted on Instagram and TikTok, giving a peek into my everyday routine—whether it was homeschooling my son, enjoying spa days with my daughter, or just sharing a “day in the life” or “get ready with me” videos. Over time, I began to focus more on intentional topics like hair care routines, self-care, and how I balanced being a wife and mom.

Now, a year into my content creation journey, I can honestly say it has completely changed my life. With my brand, @marshforeverhome, I’ve built an amazing community of over 350,000 followers across my social media platforms, and I’m still growing. I’m now focused on building a brand and learning how to engage with my audience in ways that really provide value.

Tionna , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi, I’m Tionna Marsh, the creator behind the social media brand @marshforeverhome. I’m a stay-at-home mom, wife, and content creator who decided to take a leap into the world of social media after stepping away from my nearly 10-year career in education.
My brand, @marshforeverhome, is all about embracing family, self-care, and the joys of everyday life as a stay-at-home mom. I never imagined my social media presence would grow the way it has, and it’s been so rewarding to connect with so many people. Every day I’m learning and evolving, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with my audience on a personal level. I share real moments of motherhood and family life, along with practical tips and relatable content that others can connect with. My goal is to create a space where people feel seen and heard.
I’m most proud of how much my brand has grown over the past year and how I’ve been able to turn my passion into a thriving business. I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible brands like Get Air Sports, Oral B, Hiya Health, just to name a few.

I was also selected to be represented by the global creator management agency 500 MGMT, where I now have a dedicated team to help grow my business even further.

For me, it’s not just about the numbers or revenue—it’s about creating a community where people can be inspired, feel connected, and get value from the content I share. I want my followers to know that I’m committed to being authentic, transparent, and real in everything I do. My goal is to inspire other moms and women to take risks, find their passions, and build a life they love—just like I’ve done.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In March 2023, I decided to leave my career upon having my last child. I wanted to transition into a 100% remote position, but unfortunately, I could not find a position that I felt comfortable with and that would honor my salary requirements. It was important for me to work remotely so that I can have a great work life balance between my professional and personal life.
In March 2024, I ultimately decided not to return to work and to stay home and focus on my family and that turned into me becoming a full-time content creator. I never imagined myself being a full-time content creator, especially so soon, but I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and it just felt like the perfect transition for me.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
To be honest, I simply started to just share my life as a black mom and wife because I didn’t see many women who looked like me sharing a similar perspective. I wanted to show women that they could find joy and fulfillment in being a housewife or stay at home mom. I made sure to post consistently and remained open to responding and connecting with people who may share my perspective or who may have different ideas and opinions.
My biggest piece of advice will be to remain authentic. This doesn’t truly feel like a job to me when I’m creating content because I am being my authentic self.
