Alright, Tim thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.

Knowing what I know know now it would be a lot easier to get started! To begin with I would have used a better booking software. This cost us in the beginning due to the fact that it wasnt the best quality software and didnt keep good enough track of sales and analytics. When you have a great software utilizing analytics helps you see where your sales come from.

Another big thing I would have changed would be always enforcing a cancelation policy and requiring cards on file. Every dollar counts.

Next step would be setting up all my social media a lot sooner.

Lastly I would have updated my website and added in online booking a lot sooner.

The list goes on and on but these would be some key changes.

Tim, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

When I graduated High School, my dream was to become a Physical Therapist. I wanted to help people with pain relief, including my mother who had already had two back surgeries.

So, I graduated from massage school at the Relax Station in Kingwood in 2008. When I learned how many ways massage could help people, I stuck with it.

After receiving my Massage Therapy License, I started working at many different massage therapy chains over several years and realized I was pretty good at helping clients with pain relief. I was definitely in the field that I was made for.

One example of this was when I worked at a chiropractor’s office and I worked on a client who was unable to reach his arm over his head due to injury. He was told he needed surgery. After working on him and researching many techniques, I was able to help him without him needing surgery.

I kept having these situations happen and I began to have a dream that I could one day have a clinic of my own and hire other massage therapists that had the same goals as me.

In 2014, I decided to go out on my own and the clients that had seen me over the years followed me. Heck, they were even willing to see me in my apartment living room. This gave me the validation that the sky was the limit.

It all comes down to how customers are treated. Being a small business, I felt it was best to focus on the people, rather than the money they bring.

The current services I personally offer when it comes to massage therapy are: Trigger point, Deep Tissue, Sports massage, Cupping Therapy, and Myoskelatal Techniques.

All of the massage therapist at my clinic Natural Forces Massage offer these services.

I utilize these modalities to help clients with muscle pain and various injuries.

Among the many items im proud of at this point in my career is I have amazing employees who are like minded in wanting to help clients with pain relief. Each of them are loving and personable. It shows in the over 450 5 Star reviews we have on Google.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

When it comes to what really pushed my resilience running a business it was over the last 2 years! Of course the covid pandemic was touch on all small businesses closing us for a whole month. Exactly a year later we had an ice storm that burst our pipes closing us for another month. However each time we managed to come back stronger. Sometimes God reforms your faith through trials.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

My cofounder and business partner is my wife Mckenna Turnbow! Shes my rock and has held me together all these years. We actually met in March of 2011 when I worked at N8 Massage. Mckenna started seeing me as a client due to her scoliosis. We quickly became friends. In August of 2011 I broke up with my then fiancé and decided I wanted to take a break dating. Mckenna was a Christians and strong bible believer. This helped in having a good quality friend. Well God had other plans. I fell in love really quickly. I couldnt imagine my life without her. A big bonus was that Mckenna already had a business degree. This was a major benefit when it came to my dream.
