We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful The CheeseBergens. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with The below.
Alright, The thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Marissa and Ides, mother and father, bassist and drummer, were raised on rock n roll. Marissa knew she wanted to be a rock star from a young age. She has played in bands since she was 17.
Ides dabbled in bands and focused more on his work as a roadie and later a rehearsal studio owner. He played guitar and bass as more of a hobby than anything.
We started our kids in rock school when they were about 7. When Jesse (son/guitarist) was around 12, he decided he wanted to start an original band. We struggled to find members his age. We decided to start The CheeseBergens as a creative outlet for all of us.
As an aside, that’s when Ides first learned to play drums and became more focused on music.
The CheeseBergens have been a band ever since. Also, Jesse was able to form a band with kids his age. He is in a metal band called Diabology. But we are having so much fun playing as The CheeseBergens, we don’t want to stop.

The , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The last question outlines how we got into the business. We don’t claim to solve any world problems. But we are one of the few bands who want to keep humor in music. We hope we can entertain people and give them a good laugh.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
We are just having fun as a family band. Being in a band has allowed us to share so many moments that wouldn’t have happened if we didn’t play music together. And if we can put a smile on people’s faces, so much the better.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Go out and see bands! There are so many great local bands out there and people just stay at home and do nothing instead of going out to shows. They have no idea what it would mean to an artist if they just made the extra effort. Fans can also support by buying artist’s music and merch.
