We caught up with the brilliant and insightful The Burnt Bakery Inc. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, The Burnt Bakery thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about your team building process? How did you recruit and train your team and knowing what you know now would you have done anything differently?
We originally started with about 3 members of the team, a couple of stoners that wanted to change the world through our treats. The only requirements were having a passion for serving your community, spreading the healing properties of cannabis to those who need and want it. As we scale, quality control is top priority that has and always will be stressed to any new bakers. Donors from all around the country trust us to deliver nothing but the best both in quality and potency!


The Burnt Bakery, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The Burnt Bakery Inc. is a Non Profit Bakery that uses plant-based treats to heal and change our communities. Our staff is made up mostly of stoners, philanthropists and bakers that love what they do and work hard to provide only the best handmade gourmet treats; from Donuts to Cookies, Gummies and even Lemonades! We also provide Vegan & Gluten Free options, so that stoners and patients of all dietary lifestyles can get BURNT!
We are proud mostly of our consistency to not only push out delicious treats, but provide healing and comfort to those in pain and dark mental spaces. Cannabis is then natural & true ‘medicine’ that we believe can alleviate most medical issues.



Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
About 6 months into starting our Non Profit, we accumulated much success and support, but fell into issues with certain social media platforms banning profiles linked to cannabis/cannabis infused products. This resulted in removal of pages over and over again; but through email/phone lists, and the determination to never give up on our purpose and dreams, we continued to rebuild pages and approaching our marketing in different ways that satisfied the policies of these platforms.


We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
There is no absolute blueprint to building audiences on social media, but what we’ve noticed always works for us were free giveaways. Who doesn’t like FREE stuff? Make sure the rules to win the giveaway directly contribute to more followers/interactions.
