Alright, Teash| Creator of Tea With Teash thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I definitely would have started my creative lane when I was younger, just because I just recently made the decision to step into who I was always meant to be. I wanted to major in Journalism and pledge Delta after I graduated High School, but becoming a Mommie to my near 23 year old switched my plans a little bit. I definitely had it in me to speak publicly with a lot of personality and pizzaz without nervousness and so I thought about doing something along those lines for years. One day which was back in November of 2023, I said I was done playing about me. I registered my Business Name of Tea With Teash, LLC, and began preparing my Podcast. I plan on using my brand to not just Podcast but to Host & at some point open my Black Owned Tea shop and also get into my merchandise. Although I wish I would have been firm on my goals years ago, I’m appreciative now in this moment that I started over 40 because I fully under what I’m doing and what I want.
Teash| Creator of Tea With Teash, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am turning 42 actually on August 1st (Literal Leo..lol), I am outgoing, fun and I definitely live with intention, and my Podcast is just that! I discuss Motivation, Health, Relationships and Life instances that my Audience can relate to. And I also have what I call my “Tea Talks” where I invite Guests Winter in State of Out Of State to “Sip Tea” with me on their business, information that I feel is great to provide to my Audience and pretty much highlighting their awesomeness and this is done as audio which can be heard on Spotify, Apple Podcast, YouTube Music and Iheartpodcast. I also have my “Live Tea Talks” where I add guests on Live video for the same purposes just so that my audience “Teacups” can get a visual of who I am speaking to especially if they are out of state or more so for schedule convenience. I am proud of everything I’ve accomplished so far because I pushed myself, I wasn’t afraid and I believed it could be done. I’ve made connections with some amazing Singers, Musicians, Fashion Designers, Boutique Owners, Founders of some amazing businesses, Authors and so forth which my Roster is still growing. I’ve done some event hosting and live interviewing in my city of Kansas City and have loved that experience! I feel very relevant in my artistry because I print the positive vibes that people need, authenticity and the enjoyment of life. I will continue to ensure that my topics keep those in mind that may need a pick me up or just needing to create that mental understanding as to why something happened in your life and what to do to move past it. I am so proud of myself in this moment because I have some real accomplishments in under a year of doing what I do, I have such a supportive fan base and friends who continue to cover me through this process!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn relying on others for support and expecting ME out of people. I have always been an Empath by nature and I have always been big on Love and Support. When I started my creative journey, those I supported, loved on and walked alongside throughout life’s journey, they didn’t come through for me and I get upset. I learned that as long as I am down for me and ride for me, that’s all I needed. And to add to that, stop worrying about who’s not rockin with me but who is!
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I feel like society can do a whole lot by supporting us Artists, Creatives and assist us in a thriving creative ecosystem. Support can be anything from buying tickets to our shows, booking us, showing love, buying our merchandise/or products and just speaking greatness into us.
