Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Taylor thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Going from idea to execution is probably one of the most exciting and nerve-racking processes in the entrepreneurship realm. It is because everything inside your head is now suddenly right in your face. This opens your eyes to how prepared you really are. Sometimes it is not always HOW you start but more importantly WHEN you begin. When I first launched my business I was very nervous about the “selling yourself” portion in order to get clients. My brand was solely and strictly service based at the beginning. I was planning a perfect launch and wanted to ensure I was confident in selling. I started a small sunglasses business with the goal to sell out in four weeks to see if I did in fact have the ability to sell. I ended up selling almost all my inventory within a seven-day span. I was more confident than I was prior to going into my coaching business. I used the tools I learned online and some methods that I taught myself and landed my first coaching client within 15 days of my coaching business launch. Don’t be afraid to give yourself a test run before putting yourself out there. You have to have confidence in yourself and know what you bring to the table to start your journey to success. Give yourself a pre-launch before an actual launch to gauge how ready you really are.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
If you do not know I am the Business Genie. I specialize in branding and marketing and helping small/medium enterprises scale in reaching their target audience through proper planning with branding and marketing. This includes but is not limited to brand awareness sessions, business plans, discovery calls, social media revamps, marketing plans, and marketing content such as photoshoots and commercials. I enjoy the ability to open my client’s eyes to a different side of their business and more opportunities for business growth that my clients may not have thought about. I started my first business in 7th grade selling and making screen-printed t-shirts out of the spare room in my house. This then landed me another business that I started in 2018. Through these business journies, I had people wanting to know how I got started and wanted help with their brands. My love of always wanting to be a teacher and passion for entrepreneurship combined and the Business Genie was born. I am not a sit back and watch as others do type of “coach” so I knew business coach was not the name I wanted. I was known for helping people reach their goals with my help and some guidance which is where genie came in — your business wish is my command. I love to work with goal-oriented and dedicated individuals that can be self-motivated or are working on becoming self-motivated. I love hearing “I never thought about that” when working with my clients, it’s the small things that truly mean a lot.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being authentic is what really sets me aside. I am a no-nonsense coach, meaning excuses simply do not fly here. You have the ability to do something and it is either fear or lack of knowledge that is holding you back from accomplishing your goals. This is where I am different, I will push you in areas where you may not feel comfortable in order to get you to the next level. This is needed, if we stay in our comfort zones we never know what is waiting right outside the door.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Scheduling is the best tool — probably ever. Not only can you schedule campaigns for email blasts, but you can also schedule your social media posts, text marketing, and more. This allows you to stay on track and keep in communication even when – dare I say it — we forget, it allows us to still be on top of our game. A great thing to do is get your customer’s birthdays and design birthday perks and deliver them the month of the birthday that way you are able to connect with your audience on a personal level.
