We were lucky to catch up with Taylor Mcnally recently and have shared our conversation below.
Taylor, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
I feel very comfortable asking friends and family to support my business! My family is my biggest support system and my business wouldn’t be where it is without them! They love me and want to see my business grow and will help me in any way that they can! I do think there are certain times where there is a line of what family should and shouldn’t do, but who am I to say! Everyone runs their business in a unique and special way that works for them!

Taylor, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
If we haven’t met, I would love to… but here’s my virtual introduction! I got into the floral industry in a weird way! I actually made most of my corsages and boutonnieres all throughout high school for school dances. When I graduated, I went to college and hated it. I dropped out and came back to my hometown and landed a job in a commercial floral shop and LOVED every second of it. I knew floral was where I was supposed to be, but I wanted to venture out into the wedding floral industry. The next year I took an internship with a luxury wedding floral company and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! I learned so much and found my passion! I started my business that same year wanting to have a more personal connection with my couples rather than just working behind the scenes and it’s been history ever since! I now create floral designs for weddings and events with a youthful, organic and garden style! I think what sets me apart from others is my organization and ability to deliver no matter the circumstance! I am so proud of my business and I can’t wait for the growth to come in the future years, I will say my proudest moment was just this past year! I ran my business while also going to school full time and that was a great accomplishment! I seriously love my business and don’t know what I would do without it and the couples that I get to create for!

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I would say the company Mulberry and Moss has been a huge resource for me and my business. They are diligent and detailed in their work while also having endless learning and growth possibilities through their business. I look up to their company and hope to impact people just like they do!

Have you ever had to pivot?
I recently had to pivot just this past year while running my business! I decided to go to cosmetology school full-time as a backup option for my future and I learned how to juggle running a business while also succeeding and being the best version of myself in my business as well! It has been a crazy busy ride, but I am so glad that I decided to do it! It has been a year of learning, growing and preparing myself for future years! I had to pivot in the amount of couples and events that I would take as well as the time I was giving to myself for success!
