Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tatiana Jones-Waldon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tatiana, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Being a business owner gave me the freedom to spend more time with my children which made me happy. During the peak of the pandemic I was able to stay home, perfect my craft and raise my children. In the summer of 2022, I went back to working a regular full time job while still working my businesses after work and on the weekends. It can be very challenging at times trying to balance time for everything. Sometimes it does get overwhelming as well, but mental health is very important to me so I always listen to my body and take breaks when need me in order to provide excellent service to my customers/clients.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The Salad Trap was crafted from an idea I had during the peak of the pandemic wanting to bring fresh and quality food to the area at the time. I love cooking and baking, it helps with my anxiety and at the time the concept of building your own salad wasn’t popular and I wanted to bring it to life. I invested 70$ into the business to start and within a couple of months my clientele grew tremendously. I provide the options of 15+ toppings you can put on your salad for a flat rate. Im most proud of the fact that I was able to grow my business at my own pace and creativity. I want potential clients to know that not only is this just a business this is my purpose and passion.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Engaging and word of mouth, Before my business I wasnt big on social media or meeting new people. In today’s society social media platforms are the best way to promote and grow your clientele.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source is when my regular clients promote my business to others.
