We recently connected with Tamanie (TAM-uh-nee) Dove and have shared our conversation below.
Tamanie (TAM-uh-nee), thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Each year, as the Founder of the International Singer Songwriters Association, Inc. (ISSA) our members and I collaborate together and write, record and produce a song from the ground up. Once completed, all proceeds from the sale of the song are dontated to the Global Hunger Relief Fund.
We have done this project every year since the inception of the organization and not only does it bring us all together but it gives everyone in our group a sense of purpose and sincere pleasure to be able to contribute to a worthy cause each year.
Tamanie (TAM-uh-nee), before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I founded The International Singer Songwriters Association and I am a singer songwriter born and raised in Nashville, now residing in Atlanta who is dedicated to supporting and serving independent artists, and encouraging aspiring and professional singers and songwriters in all genres of music worldwide.
I grew up back stage at the Opry. My mother, Carole Dove having worked at Tree Publishing, which later became Tree International and now Sony/Tree, took me with her everywhere, including business meetings, performances and homes of some of the most notorious names in the music business.
Many years of loyal friendships with some of the most famous singers and songwriters in Nashville, the US and abroad, have been the most rewarding part of this newest conquest; beginning this new chapter to help others like myself and assist those aspiring to achieve their dreams.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Having built quite a large audience on our social media platform in a very short time, one piece of advice I would recommend is to learn all about the different algorithms for each one. Learn about the proper etiquette and what TO and what NOT TO post or share on certain days, during certain times of the day, etc. Knowing the benefits of things like using the proper hashtags and how they work are very beneficial and not often use correctly.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being able to help others just starting out in the careers is my biggest reward. There wasn’t a lot of support for me when I first looked into the aspects of being professional songwriter. This is one way I can pay it forward by passing along what I have learned in the process.
