Ta’lor, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I believe consistency is what it takes to be successful! If you’re successful in being consistent, then eventually it will bring you success.

Ta’lor, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hi!!! I’m Ta’lor Matthews and I’m a creative and entrepreneur. My journey of entrepreneurship began a few years ago which allowed me the opportunity to begin my eyewear business known as Grace Eyewear Collection. Grace Eyewear is my business baby that I absolutely love and every passionate about. Outside of being a business owner I’m also a creative. I began my creative journey a few years ago by teaching myself about all things graphic design. Overall, I’ve always been creative and innovative. It’s something I’m in love with and have a great appreciation for. Overall, I’d like for you all to know that entrepreneurship isn’t easy but it’s worth it. There’s so many hours put in, sacrifices made and even some days of not seeing any income. But, anything that isn’t easy isn’t worth it!

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

Whenever I was in high school, I began to resell my sneakers. I was totally obsessed with sneakers as I still am now so it was a passion and also a hustle. I believe that ignited the fire of entrepreneurship honestly. Even before that, I’d also find ways to make a $1.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Not necessarily resources but I wish before attending college that I considered taking up Graphic Design and Marketing. I believe having the book knowledge could’ve helped me later in life.
