We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tabbetha Oakes. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tabbetha below.
Tabbetha, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope to be remembered as a caring, successful, free spirited, business woman, and a great mother. There’s a lot I still want to do and plan on doing, like for instance, the homeless community in Kansas City, is out of control, our homeless shelters are constantly overfilled, I would love to be able to get to the point where I have enough money intake, to give back to my community, maybe fix up some of the older buildings in Kansas City, to help with housing the homeless and getting them back on their feet.

Tabbetha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am an entrepreneur. I first got introduced to modeling when I was in middle school, my sister wanted to become a photographer at the time, and she needed a model for her portfolio for college, so I was her model. I started doing my own photography last year, and I started designing last year as well. I do modeling, photography, and design. What sets me apart from other, is my intentions, I love and appreciate the success I have found, though it is not my end goal. I would rather give back to my community and help others with finding what they want to do out of life and helping them reach those goals than to just help myself come up, success is community not competition. I’m most proud the community I’ve built up around me, the people I have in my life, I love my work and my brand Kalypso’s Designs, I wouldn’t be as far as I am without the people I have who support and help me along the way, they are such amazing people, if you want to be apart of this community, all is welcome.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My professionalism and authenticity

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
My art, sharing my art, creating my art, being around others that are so creative, it inspires me to go further, do more, create more, who you allow around you, is what you become, slowly but surely, and having such intelligent, creative humans around me, is such a blessing in my life
