We recently connected with Sydnie and have shared our conversation below.
Sydnie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about your team building process? How did you recruit and train your team and knowing what you know now would you have done anything differently?
I often get asked how I’ve built such a strong and loyal team. From the very beginning of building Luv Luxe, I knew this would be critical to our growth and long-term success.
Before starting my own business, I had what I now see as an “opportunity” to work under some very challenging individuals. That experience was a major eye-opener for me. I made a promise to myself that if I ever had the chance to build my own brand, I would do it differently. I would lead with respect, integrity, and create real opportunities for growth for the people around me.
Luv Luxe would not be where it is today without the incredible team behind it. They consistently push limits beyond what I ever imagined possible. One of the best pieces of advice I received early on was: hire the right people and then move out of their way. Nobody wants to be micromanaged or treated poorly. When you bring in the right people and trust them to do what they do best, the opportunities for your business become endless.
If I were starting today, I would follow the exact same philosophy: prioritize people first, build a culture of trust, and empower your team to grow alongside the business.

Sydnie , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those who may not know me yet, I’m the founder of Luv Luxe, a luxury handbag resale business built on trust, education, and an obsession with doing things the right way.
My personal journey into this industry came from recognizing a gap in the resale market. I saw how confusing, intimidating, and often risky it could feel for clients to buy or sell luxury items. There was a lack of transparency, education, and true care for the customer experience. I knew there had to be a better way.
What started as a passion for luxury handbags and designer goods quickly turned into a mission: to create a company where clients could feel completely confident, informed, and taken care of whether they were buying or selling. From day one, Luv Luxe has focused heavily on, integrity, and building long-term relationships rather than quick transactions.
We provide luxury resale services specializing in designer handbags and accessories. But beyond the products themselves, we solve the problem of trust in the resale market. Our clients know that when they work with Luv Luxe, they are receiving expertly authenticated items, honest guidance, and a level of service that is hard to find in this industry.
What sets us apart is our commitment to education and transparency. We take the time to teach our clients what to look for, how to understand value, and how to make informed decisions. We don’t gatekeep information. We believe an educated client is an empowered client.
I am most proud of the reputation we’ve built and the team behind Luv Luxe. This brand is built on respect, integrity, and a shared standard of excellence. Our growth has come from word-of-mouth, repeat clients, and the trust we’ve earned one interaction at a time.
What I want people to know most about Luv Luxe is that we are not just a resale company. We are advocates for our clients, stewards of authenticity, and passionate about raising the standard for what luxury resale should feel like.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Over the last few years as a founder, I’ve had to make some significant pivots both personally and professionally. I’m now a proud mother of three young children, and that alone has been a tremendous learning curve. Balancing the growth of a business while being an intentional, present parent is not easy. The word balance can feel unrealistic at times. Some days I feel like I’m thriving in my career and falling short as a parent, and other days it’s the opposite. I’ve learned to give myself grace and remind myself that I’m doing my best in both roles.
Professionally, these past few years have also been a period of refinement for Luv Luxe. At one point, we had added a fun gift shop to the business. While I genuinely enjoyed it, I began to realize it was distracting from the core focus of our luxury resale brand. Making the decision to let it go was difficult, but necessary.
We also created a luxury ice cream brand random, but incredibly fun. I wanted to challenge myself in an industry I had no experience in, and it turned out to be wildly successful. However, it too began to pull my attention away from the business I had spent years building. I ultimately decided to sell it to another local family, and I’m happy to see it still thriving today.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media has been an incredible tool for growing a small business and getting our brand in front of the right audience. The key for us has always been consistency and authenticity.
Early on, there were many opportunities to buy followers or work with third-party agencies that promised fast growth. But I made a commitment to myself that Luv Luxe would always stand for authenticity, and buying followers or inflated engagement never felt aligned with that value.
While we may not have the largest following in the luxury resale space, the people who follow us are genuinely invested in our brand. They’ve watched our growth, seen our evolution, and truly believe in what we do. That kind of audience is far more valuable than large numbers filled with accounts that don’t know who we are or what we stand for.
My advice to anyone starting out is to focus on building a real community. Show up consistently, be transparent, and stay true to your brand. An authentic audience will always be more powerful than a manufactured one.
