Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Styric McClure. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Styric, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
-There is something to be said about natural talent, and I inherited that from my Dad’s side of the family -I believe that I could have learn more about music more quickly if I had majored in music instead of business
-Studying the greats in more detail. Really digging into harmony & theory
-Raising a family and making sure that they had the best education. Would not have changed it for anything in the world
Styric, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have always played music on the side for years, and have always treated it as a hobby, but it wasn’t until when Covid hit that I really focused on putting out a project, and pouring my time, emotion, and dollars into something that I wanted to do for years. The message here is that is is never to late, and anything is possible.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
One of the most rewarding things about being an song writer is to take a basic idea, and to nurture that idea to see it grow into something bigger than you imagined.
Another thing that I would like to add is that it never gets old hearing my music on a radio station. :)
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have realized that the world is a lot smaller that I thought. Technology has enabled everyone to get closer. Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn are great tools to connect with folks that you would’t normally met in person. I have met some amazing people, and have developed some amazing friendships via social media
